EduAsiaNews, Riau — Universitas Riau (Unri) continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization by expanding students’ access to global academic experiences. This commitment is reflected in the participation of three students in the 3+2 Bachelor–Master Fast Track Program for Fall 2026 at Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan.
The three students are Farid Artha Nugraha and Rifa Zahira Zuhdi from the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, who have been accepted into MCUT’s Safety, Health and Environment Engineering program. Meanwhile, Sandi Wishlin Guo from the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, has been accepted into MCUT’s International Master of Business Administration program.
Unri Rector Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., said that opportunities to pursue academic development at the international level are an important part of the university’s efforts to prepare outstanding graduates who can compete globally.
“Unri remains committed to expanding opportunities for students to develop their academic potential and gain learning experiences in international environments,” the rector said.
She added that students’ participation in the program offers a valuable opportunity to broaden their cross-border academic experience, deepen their expertise, and gain exposure to international education and research environments.
“We hope the students will make the most of this opportunity, uphold the reputation of Universitas Riau and Indonesia, and bring back valuable knowledge and experience that will contribute to their personal development and the advancement of society,” she added.
Meanwhile, Unri Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil., emphasized that the program demonstrates the importance of international cooperation in creating tangible opportunities for students to pursue further education and enhance their competencies.
“The participation of three Unri students in MCUT’s 3+2 Bachelor–Master Fast Track Program is a concrete example of how internationalization can be advanced by providing access to cross-border education. We hope they will use this opportunity to strengthen their academic competencies, build international networks, and broaden their perspectives in their respective fields of study. Going forward, Unri will continue to promote partnerships that deliver tangible benefits to students and support improvements in graduate quality,” he said.
Andrian Perdana, S.P., M.Agr.Sc., deputy at the Center for International Affairs and an aide to the vice rector for international cooperation, explained that the 3+2 Bachelor–Master Fast Track Program at MCUT began on Sept. 5, 2026, and is scheduled to run for two years.
He explained that the program provides an accelerated pathway connecting undergraduate and master’s degrees. The participation of students from two faculties with different academic disciplines also demonstrates that Unri’s internationalization opportunities can be developed across disciplines.
“Through this program, students not only have the opportunity to pursue master’s degrees but can also build academic networks, experience different approaches to learning, and broaden their understanding of global scientific developments,” Andrian said.
