EduAsiaNews, Lampung — The series of events marking the 61st anniversary of the University of Lampung (Unila) once again provided a platform for expression and creativity through a solo singing competition held at the university’s Integrated Parking Area on Friday (Sept. 18, 2026).
The lively event attracted 20 participants, who performed a compulsory Lampung regional song and a song of their choice, showcasing their vocal abilities, interpretation and stage presence.
The compulsory songs were “Lampung Sai Agung” by Edy P. Pulampas and “Tanah Lado” by Andy Ahmad. Participants’ song choices included “Debu-Debu Jalanan” by Imam S. Arifin, “Cinta Sejati” by Bunga Citra Lestari, “Seperti Mati Lampu” by Nassar, “Andai Aku Bisa” by Chrisye, “Bercanda” by Elvi Sukaesih and “Penantianku” by Mansyur S.
The competition featured three judges with extensive backgrounds and experience in the arts and music. The panel comprised Semar Jaya, S.Pd., M.Pd., a songwriter also known as Jay Abank; Sri Sulastuti, S.H., M.Hum.; and Melli Aprina, S.H., M.M.
Before the competition began, the organizing committee said the judging would assess several aspects of the participants’ performances, including their ability to interpret and perform the songs. The panel of judges was expected to ensure an objective assessment in accordance with the established criteria.
The solo singing competition was part of a series of events commemorating Unila’s 61st anniversary in 2026. Beyond being a competition, the event provided members of the university community and participants with an opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity while expressing their appreciation for music.
