EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu’ti, M.Ed., personally inspected the implementation of the 2026 Computer-Based National Selection Test (UTBK SNBT) at the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) on Wednesday (29/4/2026). The visit aimed to ensure that the national university entrance selection process was running in an orderly, objective, and standardised manner, following nine days of examinations at the campus.
The UTBK SNBT Coordinator at UPNVJ, Fajar Nugroho, S.Kom., M.P., presented a detailed overview of the examination’s operational readiness to the Minister and his delegation. “The implementation of UTBK SNBT at UPNVJ is supported by cross-unit coordination, encompassing room supervisors, information technology teams, administrative staff, security personnel, and health services,” Fajar explained. All mechanisms were designed to ensure participants could sit the examination safely and comfortably from arrival through to completion.
The Minister then conducted a direct inspection of the Dr. Soetomo Building, one of the designated examination venues, before meeting with first-session participants who had finished their tests. Addressing the students, Prof. Mu’ti offered words of encouragement. “You have given your best. Now it is time to relax. God willing, your efforts will be assessed objectively and the results announced on schedule,” he said.
Prof. Mu’ti emphasised that the experience of sitting the UTBK SNBT forms an important part of character development. The examination, he noted, does not merely measure academic ability, but also builds mental resilience, stamina, and intellectual capability. “Being accepted into your chosen university is certainly a joy, but if you do not succeed this time, it is not the end of everything,” he affirmed, to an enthusiastic response from the students present.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., stated that the Minister’s presence was both an honour and a source of encouragement for the institution. “He came to ensure that the UTBK SNBT at UPNVJ is conducted in accordance with the applicable procedures, rules, and standards,” said Prof. Venus. He stressed that UPNVJ’s commitment extends beyond facility readiness to encompass full accountability in its educational services.
On the same day, the Chairperson of the 2026 National Student Admission Committee (SNPMB), Prof. Waras Kamdi, also conducted monitoring of the facilities, examination flow mechanisms, and supervisory systems at UPNVJ. The central committee’s visit reaffirmed that oversight of the 2026 UTBK SNBT is conducted in multiple layers from the institutional level to the national committee, in order to uphold the integrity and public trust in the state university selection process.
