UNJA has officially qualified to participate in the 2026 Anugerah Abdidaya Ormawa, scheduled to take place from Oct. 21 to 25, 2026, at Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The event is organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

EduAsiaNews, Mendalo — Universitas Jambi (UNJA) has once again recorded a significant national achievement. Three teams from UNJA’s Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) have officially qualified to participate in the 2026 Anugerah Abdidaya Ormawa, scheduled to take place from Oct. 21 to 25, 2026, at Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The event is organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

The three teams are the Mathematics Education Student Association (IMATIKA) of UNJA’s Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), through the LENTERA TANTAN program; the UNJA Student Executive Board (BEM), through Pudak Resilient Village; and LD Ath-Thobib of UNJA’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), through the OPTIMALISASI MASLAHAT program.

The achievement places UNJA among the universities with the highest number of teams advancing to the Abdidaya event in Sumatra. Of the nine teams from six universities in Sumatra that qualified, three are from UNJA, accounting for one-third of all teams from the region. Nationally, UNJA is also among the universities with the highest number of qualifying teams, behind institutions that advanced five and four teams.

UNJA Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni Prof. Dr. Fauzi Syam, S.H., M.H., said the achievement was not merely a competitive accomplishment but also reflected the increasingly strong focus of UNJA’s student activities on creating tangible impacts and sustaining community empowerment.

“Achievement is important, but sustaining the impact is far more important. What we want to ensure is not only that these three teams perform well at the national level, but also that LENTERA TANTAN, Pudak Resilient Village and MASLAHAT genuinely leave behind lasting capacity, institutional structures and good practices in the communities,” he said.

According to Fauzi, the success of the three teams was also the result of joint efforts involving students, faculty advisors, faculties, student affairs units, local governments, village and urban-village administrations, as well as various partners. Therefore, preparations for the Anugerah Abdidaya should go hand in hand with efforts to strengthen the sustainability of the programs at their respective locations.

LENTERA TANTAN: Literacy as a Path to a Smart Village

In Tantan Village, Sekernan district, Muaro Jambi regency, students from IMATIKA FKIP UNJA began the program by assessing the community’s needs. An initial survey of 30 respondents identified gaps in digital, environmental, numeracy and financial literacy.

These challenges led to the development of LENTERA TANTAN — an Integrative Learning Corner Model to Accelerate Multidimensional Literacy Toward a Smart Village.

Pudak Resilient Village: Where Technology Meets Local Knowledge

In Pudak Village, Kumpeh Ulu district, students from BEM UNJA are addressing issues closely connected to residents’ daily lives, particularly flooding and peatland ecosystem management.

Through Pudak Resilient Village, the students combine appropriate technology with community empowerment, including the installation of piezometers and staff gauges to help monitor water levels.

OPTIMALISASI MASLAHAT: Tackling Stunting Through Community-Based Prevention

The LD Ath-Thobib FKIK UNJA team is working in Tahtul Yaman urban village, Pelayangan district, Jambi, through the OPTIMALISASI MASLAHAT program.

The team views stunting not as an isolated issue but as a problem closely linked to the environment, healthy lifestyle practices, family health, waste management and the capacity of community health cadres.

Following the Assessment of Implementation Progress and the national verification stage, Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs Letter No. 3773/DST/B2/DT.01.01/2026, dated Oct. 5, 2026, officially designated the three UNJA teams as participants in the 2026 Anugerah Abdidaya Ormawa.

For UNJA, the three teams are carrying more than the university’s name. They are bringing stories of communities that are learning, adapting, building institutions and strengthening their capacity through partnerships with students.

Three teams. Three empowerment sites. Three real community challenges. One shared message: UNJA students do not simply come to serve communities; they work alongside them to create lasting change.
