EduAsiaNews, Riau – Universitas Riau (Unri) Rector Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, SE, M.Si. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) on Wednesday (Sept. 23) at Menara Agrinas Palma in Jakarta.
She was accompanied by Unri Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil.
PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara President Director Dr. Mohammad Abdul Ghani attended the signing ceremony, along with Operations Director Tuhu Bangun, Business Director Nurhidayat and Bappenas’ Palm Oil Board Secretary Dr. Rino Afrino, ST, MM, CAPO.
Prof. Sri Indarti said the partnership between Unri and Agrinas Palma Nusantara would focus on the implementation of the university’s Tridharma obligations — education, research and community service — as well as strategic cooperation in plantation and agroindustry research.
One of the initiatives will be the establishment of a joint research center aimed at developing a national and internationally recognized palm oil research center.
“The research center will serve as a platform for strategic collaboration in education, research and innovation in the palm oil plantation sector, covering cultivation, processing and plantation management,” she said.
The event also featured a presentation on transforming the governance and optimization of PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara’s palm oil plantation assets through participatory mapping and collaborative governance approaches.
