EduAsiaNews, Purwokerto – Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed), in collaboration with the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN) and PT Sucofindo (Persero), hosted SNI Goes to Campus 2026 at the LPPM Auditorium on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Carrying the theme “Impactful Campus: Graduates Ready to Compete in the Workforce,” the event aimed to strengthen collaboration among universities, government, and industry in fostering a culture of standardization among university students.

The SNI Goes to Campus program is designed to enhance standardization literacy within higher education institutions while preparing graduates with the competencies needed to compete in an increasingly competitive job market. The event also featured the Agrotechnopreneurship Practicum Expo organized by the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, and the announcement of the winners of the Student Standardization Poster Competition.

Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Unsoed, Prof. Dr. Ir. Elly Tugiyanti, M.P., IPU., ASEAN Eng., expressed appreciation for the collaboration between BSN and PT Sucofindo in strengthening awareness of standardization among the university’s academic community.

“This collaboration reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing understanding of standardization as an essential foundation for improving graduate competitiveness while strengthening the competitiveness of local products in regional and global markets,” she said.

According to Prof. Elly, Unsoed continues to promote the commercialization of student research through its Business Incubator Center (PIB). Through this initiative, student innovations are expected to progress beyond the research stage and develop into products that deliver tangible benefits to society.

“We want to demonstrate that the research process should extend seamlessly from upstream research to downstream implementation, ultimately producing innovations that create added value for society,” she explained.

During the talk show session, students gained insights into the role of standardization from the perspectives of government, industry, and academia. Tegar Ega Pragita, Junior Standardization Analyst at BSN, discussed the importance of standardization in developing graduates’ competencies, while Bayu Sukma, Vice President of the Certification and Eco-Framework Strategic Business Unit at PT Sucofindo (Persero), highlighted the growing demand within industry for professionals who understand the implementation of standards.

As part of the event, BSN also announced the winners of the Student Standardization Poster Competition. The first prize was awarded to Ida Nur Safitri from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences. Firman Febriana and Daffa Faturrahman from the Department of Mechanical Engineering secured second place, while Satrio Ramadanu from the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, received third place. The three winning entries will represent Unsoed at the National Student Standardization Poster Competition, held as part of National Quality Month 2026.

One of the participants, Riski from the Faculty of Economics and Business, shared that the event had broadened his understanding of the importance of implementing the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).

“After attending this event, I will pay greater attention to standardization when developing products. As a consumer, I have also become more aware of the importance of standards because they are closely related to product safety and quality,” he said.

Through SNI Goes to Campus 2026, Unsoed, BSN, and PT Sucofindo aim to further embed a culture of standardization within the academic community, encourage the development of standards-based innovation, and produce graduates who are well prepared to compete in the workforce while contributing to the enhancement of Indonesia’s national competitiveness.
