EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu’ti, M.Ed., conducted a visit to the Computer-Based Written Examination Center for the National Selection Based on Tests (UTBK-SNBT) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The visit was carried out to review supporting facilities, service readiness, and the implementation of the 2026 UTBK-SNBT, which had been ongoing for nine days at UPNVJ. The presence of the Minister reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that the national selection process is conducted in an orderly, objective manner and in accordance with established standards.
The series of activities began with a presentation on the implementation of UTBK-SNBT at UPNVJ by the Coordinator of the UTBK-SNBT Center, Fajar Nugroho, S.Kom., M.P. In his presentation, Fajar outlined the overall examination process, including the readiness of examination rooms and computer equipment, the distribution of committee responsibilities, the supervision system, participant information services, health support, as well as mechanisms for handling both technical and non-technical issues during the examination.
Fajar further explained that the implementation of UTBK-SNBT at UPNVJ was supported by cross-unit coordination, involving site coordinators, room supervisors, information technology teams, administrative staff, public relations officers, security personnel, healthcare staff, and other supporting units. This coordination was intended to ensure that participants could take the examination in an orderly, safe, and comfortable manner from arrival at the venue until the completion of the test.
During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., members of the university leadership, as well as the Chair of SNPMB, who was also present for the review agenda. After the presentation, the delegation visited one of the UTBK-SNBT examination locations at UPNVJ, situated in the Dr. Soetomo Building.
The inspection was conducted to directly observe the condition of the examination rooms, supporting facilities, and technical readiness used in the implementation of UTBK-SNBT 2026. The Dr. Soetomo Building serves as one of the key venues, as it accommodates participants who selected UPNVJ as their UTBK testing center.
Following the inspection, the Minister, the Rector of UPNVJ, and the delegation interacted with participants of the first UTBK-SNBT session who had completed their examination. This moment provided an opportunity for participants to receive direct messages from the Minister after undergoing the national selection process.
The Rector of UPNVJ stated that the Minister’s visit was both an honor and a reinforcement of UPNVJ’s role as one of the official UTBK-SNBT 2026 testing centers.
“Dear participants, today we are honored to receive a visit from the Minister. He is here to ensure that the implementation of UTBK-SNBT at UPNVJ proceeds in accordance with the applicable procedures, regulations, and standards,” said Prof. Venus in front of the participants.
According to Prof. Venus, the implementation of UTBK-SNBT is not only about the readiness of facilities and infrastructure, but also about the institution’s commitment to providing accountable educational services. Therefore, UPNVJ strives to ensure that all stages of the examination are conducted in an orderly, transparent manner and are oriented toward participants’ comfort.
On the same occasion, the Minister, Prof. Mu’ti, delivered words of encouragement to participants who had completed the test. He expressed appreciation for their efforts in going through all stages of the examination and advised them to remain calm after completing the test.
“You have done your best. Now it is time to relax. Everything has been completed and recorded. God willing, your work will be assessed objectively and the results will be announced according to schedule,” said Prof. Mu’ti.
He added that the experience of taking the UTBK-SNBT is an important part of character development. According to him, the examination not only measures academic ability but also trains resilience, mental readiness, stamina, and intellectual capacity of prospective university students.
“Your experience in taking this test is an important part of shaping who you are—not only in your ability to complete the test, but also in developing strong mental resilience, stamina, and intellect. Being accepted into your chosen university and study program is certainly a joy, but if you are not successful this time, it is not the end of everything,” he stated.
The message was positively received by participants who had just completed the examination. For them, direct encouragement from the Minister served as a moral boost after undergoing a selection process that required concentration, academic readiness, and psychological composure.
The Minister’s visit to the UTBK-SNBT Center at UPNVJ also reinforces the university’s position as a state higher education institution committed to delivering quality education services. Through the readiness of its facilities, the support of human resources, and structured committee coordination, UPNVJ continues to uphold public trust in the implementation of the national university admission selection process.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
