Rector of Unpatti Emphasizes Collaboration and Professional Governance in the Inauguration of FISIP Vice Dean

EduAsiaNews, Ambon – The Rector of Universitas Pattimura, Prof. Dr. Fredy Leiwakabessy, M.Pd., emphasized the importance of leadership continuity, strengthening governance, and enhancing collaboration in his remarks at the inauguration of Vice Deans within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. The event took place on Wednesday, July 8, at the Universitas Pattimura Rectorate Hall.

On this occasion, the Rector inaugurated several officials: Dr. Fransina Matakena, S.Sos., M.Si. as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Safrudin B. Layn, S.Sos., M.Si. as Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs; and Dr. Mike J. Rolobessy, S.Sos., M.T. as Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni.

In his speech, the Rector stated that this inauguration represents part of the organizational regeneration process, following approximately four years of service by the previous officials. He expressed appreciation and gratitude to the outgoing officials for their dedication in managing academic affairs, personnel, administration, and other institutional responsibilities.
“The service rendered has laid an essential foundation for leadership continuity and the future development of the institution,” the Rector said.

He further stressed that the experiences gained during the previous leadership term should serve as valuable lessons. Any shortcomings are expected to be used as material for reflection, while positive achievements should be continued and enhanced by the newly appointed officials.

The Rector also underscored the importance of implementing good governance based on integrity, professionalism, accountability, and transparency. He encouraged the new officials to demonstrate innovation, creativity, and loyalty in carrying out their duties in alignment with the university’s strategic development directions.

Moreover, the Rector reminded that the new officials will soon face various strategic agendas, including evaluation of the previous year’s achievements, adjustments to ongoing work programs, and forward planning.

He requested that the adaptation process be carried out swiftly through intensive coordination with the outgoing officials. Additionally, he highlighted several priority programs, including strengthening study program accreditation and developing academic infrastructure, particularly in the fields of social sciences, communication, and psychology.

In concluding his remarks, the Rector expressed gratitude to all parties, including the officials’ families, religious leaders, and the entire academic community who have supported the institution’s journey. He expressed hope that the synergy developed will continue to be strengthened for the advancement of the university and its tangible contributions to national development.
