EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Outstanding achievements have once again been demonstrated by students of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) through the Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit “Veteran” Jakarta (PSVJ), which successfully dominated the Pakubumi Open Pencak Silat Championship. This accomplishment received special attention from the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Anter Venus, who invited representatives of the athletes to a meeting in the Rector’s Office as a form of appreciation for their contribution in bringing honor to the university.

In the championship, the PSVJ Student Activity Unit recorded remarkable achievements by securing 23 gold medals and 13 silver medals, as well as earning the title of Second Overall Champion. In addition, the team coach was awarded Third Best Coach.

On this occasion, Prof. Venus conveyed his appreciation directly to the students representing the team. He noted that this achievement reflects the consistency of the Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit in attaining success across various competitions.

“I highly appreciate this consistent achievement from Pencak Silat. This is not only a source of pride for the team, but also for the university,” he stated.

Furthermore, Prof. Venus emphasized that the Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit is one of the student organizations that can serve as a role model in terms of achievement. He expressed hope that these accomplishments will not only be maintained but also further improved in the future, and that other student organizations will follow PSVJ’s example.

“Pencak Silat is one of the student activity units that serves as a role model in terms of achievement. I hope this can be sustained and even enhanced in the future, and emulated by other student organizations,” he added.

During the meeting, Prof. Venus also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting the development of students’ potential, particularly in non-academic fields such as sports.

“The university is committed to providing facilities and infrastructure that support students in continuing to achieve excellence. Therefore, do not hesitate to propose any supporting needs,” he emphasized.

This meeting is expected to serve as motivation for all UPNVJ students to continue excelling and bringing honor to the university, both at the national and international levels.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
