EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (FT UNJ) officially launched its strategic Visiting Professor and Joint Supervision programs on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Building A, SFD Campus A, UNJ. This initiative is part of the Enhancing Quality of Education for International University Impact and Recognition (EQUITY) program, aimed at strengthening research quality, international publications, and the university’s global recognition.
The program featured two distinguished international academics: Mohamed Thariq Hameed Sultan from Universiti Putra Malaysia and ShahNor Basri from Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia.
Beyond public lectures, the event served as a pivotal moment for advancing international collaboration through the signing of an Implementation Agreement and the development of joint supervision schemes. The agreement was signed by FT UNJ Dean, Prof. Neneng Siti Silfi Ambarwati, together with the visiting professors, demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening global academic networks.
In her remarks, Prof. Neneng emphasized that the program is a strategic step for FT UNJ to boost research quality and internationally recognized publications. She highlighted that collaboration with global academics not only expands networks but also accelerates academic transformation toward international standards.
“This collaboration is expected to produce tangible outcomes, including joint research, international publications, and the enhancement of globally-oriented curricula,” she stated.
Echoing this view, UNJ Director of Innovation, Information Systems, and University Rankings, R.A. Murti Kusuma W., underscored the significance of engaging international academic leaders to elevate the university’s reputation.
“Collaboration with professors who have high citation records will significantly contribute to global ranking indicators, such as the QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education,” she explained.
