EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The implementation of the health examination for 940 prospective new students of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) through the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway received positive responses from participants. The activity, held at the Merce Building of UPNVJ in Limo, Depok, on Monday, April 6, 2026, was considered well-organized, orderly, and supported by clear information as well as responsive services from the committee. This health examination serves as a mandatory stage in the follow-up selection process to ensure the health readiness of prospective students before entering university life.
The health examination included screening for drug abuse across six types of substances: amphetamines, methamphetamines, cocaine, morphine or opiates, cannabis, and benzodiazepines. In addition, participants also underwent a color blindness test, which is a specific requirement for prospective students of the Faculty of Medicine. This stage is designed to ensure that all prospective students are in good health and ready to participate optimally in the learning process.
One participant, Moqtada Aqila Fatriady, also known as Aqil, a student of SMA Negeri 2 Bekasi who was admitted to the Faculty of Law at UPNVJ, stated that the process was well-executed and made it easier for participants. “The process flow was well-structured, the information was clear, and the committee was very helpful, so we did not feel confused when going through each stage of the examination,” he said.
A similar view was expressed by another participant, Hasyifa Aurelia Queen, also known as Aurel, who considered the health examination an important part of the new student selection process. According to her, this activity not only ensures health conditions but also reflects the university’s commitment to creating a healthy environment free from drug abuse. “In my opinion, this is important because, in addition to ensuring health, it also demonstrates the university’s commitment to fostering a positive and drug-free environment,” she explained.
Participants also expressed their hopes of being able to pursue their studies smoothly and actively contribute to achievements that will enhance UPNVJ’s reputation. This enthusiasm reflects the readiness of the new generation of students to face the competitive and dynamic nature of higher education.
Through the implementation of this health examination, UPNVJ reaffirms its commitment to providing a healthy, safe, and conducive educational environment for all members of the academic community, while further strengthening its efforts to produce graduates who are competitive and possess strong character.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
