The coordination meeting was held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the 2nd Floor Hall of LPMPP, Universitas Jember. The event was opened with remarks by the Head of LPMPP, Prof. Dr. Ermanto Fahamsyah, S.H., M.H., accompanied by the Secretary for Program and Development, Prof. Dr. Iis Nur Asyiah, S.P., M.P. The meeting was attended by LPMPP leadership, Vice Deans for Academic Affairs from various faculties, the Vice Director of Postgraduate Programs, relevant Study Program Coordinators, and members of the International Service and Partnership Center. The coordination aimed to establish a shared understanding of the interview implementation mechanism to ensure that the selection process is conducted objectively, transparently, and with high quality standards.

For the 2026/2027 Academic Year, the admission process for international students is conducted through the Global Academic and Exchange Services (GAES) system, accessible via the Universitas Jember admission portal. The registration period ran from October 2025 to February 28, 2026, with two admission waves: Wave I with 15 applicants and Wave II with 7 applicants.

Applicants originate from a diverse range of countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Timor-Leste, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Libya, India, and Thailand. All submitted applications first undergo a desk evaluation stage, which includes verification of document authenticity, alignment with the chosen study program, and assessment of the applicants’ funding sources.

Following the desk evaluation, eligible candidates proceed to the interview stage. The interviews are conducted by a panel consisting of Vice Deans for Academic Affairs or the Vice Director of Postgraduate Programs, Study Program Coordinators, and the International Office (PLKI) team. This stage aims to assess candidates’ academic readiness, mental preparedness, and financial capability, as well as to ensure strong study motivation so that students can complete their studies on time at Universitas Jember.

The interviews are scheduled to take place on April 7–8, 2026, and will be conducted online via the Zoom platform, involving participants from undergraduate (S1), master’s (S2), and doctoral (S3) programs across Universitas Jember. This initiative represents a strategic effort to support the university’s internationalization agenda while enhancing the quality of admitted international students.

Through this structured and comprehensive selection process, Universitas Jember reaffirms its commitment to attracting high-quality international students and strengthening its position as a leading and globally competitive higher education institution.
