
EduAsiaNews, Makassar — Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) has once again demonstrated its commitment to enhancing the quality of human resources by signing a cooperation agreement for the 2026 Central Banking Education Program with Bank Indonesia, South Sulawesi Representative Office. The signing ceremony took place at Bank Indonesia South Sulawesi on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
This agreement involved three universities: Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), Universitas Hasanuddin, and Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar, each represented by their respective rectors.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Acting Rector of UNM, Prof. Dr. Farida Patittingi, S.H., M.Hum; Rector of Universitas Hasanuddin, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc.; and Rector of UIN Alauddin Makassar, Prof. H. Hamdan Juhannis, M.A., Ph.D., together with the Head of the Bank Indonesia South Sulawesi Representative Office, Rizki Ernadi Wimanda.
Also in attendance were the Vice Rector for Planning and Cooperation of UNM, the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of Universitas Hasanuddin, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni of UIN Alauddin Makassar, as well as the Deputy Head of the Bank Indonesia South Sulawesi Representative Office.
This collaboration marks a strategic step for Universitas Negeri Makassar in expanding its partnership network while enhancing student capacity, particularly in understanding the roles and functions of central banking. The program is aimed at vocational and undergraduate students as part of efforts to prepare graduates who are not only academically competent but also adaptable to economic dynamics.
In his remarks, the Head of the Bank Indonesia South Sulawesi Representative Office, Rizki Ernadi Wimanda, emphasized the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and Bank Indonesia in producing high-quality human resources.
“In preparing excellent human resources, individuals must not only be competent but also capable of making tangible contributions. The effective implementation of Bank Indonesia’s objectives, particularly in central banking, is realized through concrete steps such as the central banking education program designed for vocational and undergraduate students,” he stated.
He further added that this collaboration has a broad impact, not only for educational institutions but also for national development.
“This cooperation strengthens ties not only among institutions but also contributes to the nation. Last year, educational assistance was provided to 255 recipients, and this year it has increased to 270 prospective beneficiaries, with quotas of 80 each for Universitas Hasanuddin, UIN Alauddin Makassar, and UNM,” he concluded.
