
EduAsiaNews, Semarang – Universitas Brawijaya held a discussion to strengthen its partnership with Massey University, focusing on academic collaboration under the theme “Enhancing Academic Partnerships between Universitas Brawijaya and Massey University, New Zealand, through Potential Strategic Initiatives in Joint and Double Degree Programs.” The event took place on the 8th floor of the Rectorate Building, Universitas Brawijaya, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, M.P., emphasized that international collaboration is a key factor in strengthening UB as a world-class university.
With this academic partnership, Prof. Imam hopes to support faculty members in pursuing further education (master’s and doctoral programs), encourage joint research and publications among professors from various fields, and enhance global exposure for students to make them more competitive internationally.
Deputy Vice Chancellor for Students and Global Engagement at Massey University, Dr. Tere Denison McGonagle-Daly, highlighted the importance of preparing future generations to access quality education.
Henny Rosalinda, S.IP., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Global Academic Affairs, explained that the presence of International Relations Office (IRO) representatives from each faculty provided a platform for direct discussions and collaboration with Massey University professors.
“All professors will be introduced directly to the IRO, providing a channel for concrete collaborations, such as joint publications, staff exchanges, student exchanges, joint teaching, and more,” said Henny.
The discussion was organized into five groups consisting of Massey University representatives and UB faculty IRO members, allowing a thorough exchange of ideas and collaborative program planning with tangible outcomes.
The event was attended by ten professors from Massey University and IRO representatives from each UB faculty.
