EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — Frame of Photography organized the Basic Photography Training 2026 as part of its program to develop members’ knowledge and skills in understanding photography from a fundamental level. The event took place in Jakarta on February 11–12, 2026.
This activity was conducted offline at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta. In this training, Frame of Photography delivered several core materials that serve as the foundation of photography. The sessions began with an introduction to the main components of a camera and their functions, as well as an explanation of how a camera works to produce images.
Participants were also introduced to various types of commonly used cameras, such as DSLR, mirrorless, and other digital cameras. In addition, they gained an understanding of different types of lenses frequently used in photography and their roles in creating distinct perspectives and image characteristics.
The training also covered common camera modes, including manual mode, aperture priority, shutter priority, and auto mode, which can be selected based on specific needs and shooting conditions.
Moreover, the program explored one of the most essential concepts in photography: the exposure triangle. In this session, participants learned about the three key elements that influence lighting in a photograph—ISO, aperture, and shutter speed—each of which plays a crucial role in controlling the amount of light entering the camera.
These three elements were explained in depth to help participants understand how to properly adjust settings to achieve well-balanced exposure in their photos.
Through this training, Frame of Photography aims for participants to comprehensively understand the fundamentals of photography and to apply the knowledge they have gained in practical shooting situations. The program is also expected to help junior members enhance their photography skills and produce higher-quality work in the future.
On the second day of the Basic Photography Training, the materials focused on fundamental photography techniques, including composition, lighting, and camera handling.
In addition to theoretical sessions, the program included hands-on practice around the UPN “Veteran” Jakarta campus. After learning the theory, new members were given the opportunity to apply their knowledge directly, allowing for a deeper and more practical understanding.
Through this initiative, Frame of Photography hopes that new members will not only develop their basic photography skills but also cultivate a broader interest in the field. This activity is expected to serve as an initial step for participants to continue exploring their creativity and producing inspiring visual works.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
