EduAsiaNews, Bogor – IPB University has once again achieved a notable accomplishment at the global level by securing the 48th position worldwide in Agriculture & Forestry and placing within the Top 100 globally (ranked 51–100) in Veterinary Science, according to the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) by Subject 2026.
This achievement further reinforces IPB University’s consistency as the only Indonesian university to maintain a position within the Top 50 worldwide in Agriculture & Forestry, continuing a positive trend sustained over the past several years.
Moreover, IPB University has improved its standing from 10th to 8th place in Asia in the same field, while remaining the top institution in Southeast Asia and Indonesia.
In the previous year, IPB University was ranked 49th globally in the same field, demonstrating sustained excellence and an increasingly strong global competitiveness.
Rector Dr. Alim Setiawan Slamet stated that this achievement serves as an important foundation for IPB University to advance further in building a globally recognized reputation grounded in tangible impact.
“This achievement is not merely about ranking positions, but about how IPB continues to deliver solutions to global challenges. We aim to ensure that every research initiative, innovation, and graduate from IPB contributes meaningfully to strategic issues such as food security, climate change, and public health,” he remarked.
He further emphasized that moving forward, IPB University will continue to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and international partnerships, while also promoting the downstreaming of innovations to ensure broader societal benefits.
“We believe that global excellence must go hand in hand with meaningful impact. Therefore, IPB will continue to innovate, expand its networks, and enhance the quality of education and research, so that it remains not only globally competitive but also relevant and impactful for Indonesia and the world,” he added.
IPB University continues to demonstrate excellence in scientific publications, international collaborations, and the relevance of its research to global issues such as food security, climate change, and animal health.
Its achievement in Veterinary Science, where it ranks among the Top 100 globally, also serves as a key indicator that the development of veterinary sciences at IPB University is gaining increasing global recognition, in line with the One Health approach that integrates human, animal, and environmental health.
Compared to the previous year, the strengthening of IPB University’s position is reflected not only in its rankings but also in the growing global recognition of the quality of its graduates, the impact of its research, and the contribution of its innovations in addressing sustainable development challenges.
