EduAsiaNews, Jember – The Nursing Study Program and the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) have become the top choices among applicants in the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway at the University of Jember (UNEJ).

A total of 868 students selected the Nursing Study Program, making it the most favored program within the Science and Technology (Saintek) cluster at UNEJ. Meanwhile, PGSD at UNEJ ranks as the most popular program in the Social and Humanities (Soshum) cluster, attracting 756 applicants. This information was conveyed by the Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs at UNEJ, Prof. Slamin, at the Tegalboto campus (March 17, 2026).

The results of SNBP 2026 are scheduled to be officially announced on March 31, 2026. This year, UNEJ plans to admit 3,410 new students from the SNBP pathway, representing 33 percent of the total incoming class of 2026. Overall, UNEJ will admit 10,290 new students for the 2026 cohort.

“Applicants who are accepted through the SNBP pathway must complete the re-registration process, as they are not permitted to apply through other admission routes. Therefore, make the most of this opportunity to study at a public university through the SNBP pathway,” advised the Vice Rector I of UNEJ.

Based on available data, the next most popular programs in the Saintek cluster are the Pharmacy Study Program with 855 applicants, the Dentistry Study Program with 740 applicants, the Public Health Study Program with 723 applicants, and in fifth place, the Medical Education Study Program with 714 applicants.

“The composition of the most popular programs in the Saintek cluster through the SNBP pathway remains similar to previous years, predominantly dominated by health-related fields,” added Prof. Slamin.

A notable shift occurred in the Soshum cluster, where PGSD now occupies the top position, previously held by Management and/or Law. These two programs have moved to second and third place, with the Management Study Program attracting 742 applicants and the Law Study Program 610 applicants. They are followed by the Accounting Study Program with 572 applicants and the Business Administration Study Program in fifth place with 565 applicants.

Before concluding, Prof. Slamin encouraged students who were not accepted through the SNBP pathway not to lose hope, as another pathway— the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT)—is still available. Registration for SNBT will be open from March 25 to April 7, 2026.

“While there is still time, students are encouraged to seek as much information as possible about their desired study programs and public universities. This can be done by visiting official websites or consulting directly with the universities of interest. Those interested in UNEJ are welcome to contact our Public Relations or Academic Affairs office,” said the professor of Graph Theory at the Faculty of Computer Science. (iim)
