EduAsiaNews, Semarang – Another proud achievement was made by a student of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) on the national stage through a competition celebrating inspiring cultural figures. Cinta Yemima Purna Putri, a student of the 2025 cohort in the Undergraduate Public Administration Program, was crowned Puteri Lokantara 2026 in a competition organized by the Loka Nuswantara Organization.
The prestigious competition began with auditions held from February 12–16, 2026, at Hotel Amaris. After undergoing several selection stages and a quarantine period, the grand finale was successfully held at the Semarang City Hall.
Cinta, who is enrolled through the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), demonstrated a high level of dedication in preserving the cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago and promoting national tourism.
“The achievement is not merely the end result, but the fruit of consistency, discipline, and the courage to try; it is through this process that I have grown,” she said.
Cinta’s journey in competitions and public speaking began during her secondary school years, specifically when she served as Student Council President in 2023. Her interest in culture and tourism deepened after securing the position of Runner-Up II in the Dara Pariwisata competition in Lamandau Regency and winning various speech and English competitions. For Cinta, each stage of the competition up to the grand finale was a valuable opportunity to meet finalists from across the provinces, all sharing the motivation to promote Indonesia’s uniqueness.
Regarding cultural preservation in the modern era, Cinta emphasized the importance of digital strategies to reach today’s generation. She believes that social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram should be optimized to present traditional dances, traditional clothing, and historical narratives in creative and informative visual content. “By delivering content creatively and in line with digital trends, young people will be more interested in learning about and promoting Indonesian culture,” she explained.
During her time as a student at UNDIP, Cinta realized that involvement in various achievements helped her manage time and develop teamwork skills. She also highlighted that a supportive campus environment and guidance from lecturers played a crucial role in her journey toward national recognition.
In closing, Cinta encouraged all students to recognize their potential and take the first step without hesitation. She urged the academic community to maintain integrity, enhance personal capacity, and broaden their perspectives to compete globally without losing the nation’s core values and character. This spirit aligns with the university’s commitment to producing excellent and competitive generations, in support of UNDIP’s vision: UNDIP Bermartabat, UNDIP Bermanfaat.
