EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The Undergraduate Informatics Study Program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) continues to strengthen the quality of its education in order to produce outstanding and competitive graduates in the digital era. The Coordinator of the Undergraduate Informatics Study Program, Dr. Ridwan Rafiuddin, M.Kom., explained that the program aims to become an excellent, internationally accredited, innovative, and competitive study program in the field of artificial intelligence while maintaining the university’s state defense identity for the development of Indonesian society by 2029.
Currently, the Undergraduate Informatics Study Program at UPNVJ has achieved “Excellent” accreditation and is preparing to obtain international accreditation. Various components of education, research, and community service are being directed to meet international standards. One of the initiatives includes the use of English-language learning materials and the development of collaborative research with universities abroad.
In addition, the quality of human resources is one of the program’s main strengths. More than 40 percent of the permanent lecturers in the Informatics Study Program hold doctoral degrees, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to delivering high-quality education to its students.
To support the development of students’ interests and talents, the Informatics Study Program also facilitates several Student Study Groups (Kelompok Studi Mahasiswa/KSM). Currently, there are four groups focusing on robotics, Android development, multimedia, and cybersecurity. In addition, there is another group dedicated to spiritual activities under the supervision of the DKM Manbaul Ulum Mosque.
Student achievements have also shown positive progress. In 2025, two student teams from the Informatics Study Program successfully advanced in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and reached the National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas), marking a proud achievement for the program.
Dr. Ridwan explained that the career prospects for Informatics graduates are broad and aligned with the graduate profiles designed in the curriculum. Students may choose concentrations such as software engineering, network infrastructure engineering, cybersecurity engineering, and research. With these competencies, graduates have opportunities to pursue careers as software developers, network and server administrators, cybersecurity consultants, or continue their studies at the master’s level and eventually pursue academic careers as lecturers.
In closing, Dr. Ridwan invited senior high school graduates and their equivalents to join the Undergraduate Informatics Study Program at UPNVJ. “We from the Informatics Study Program welcome high school graduates and their equivalents to join us. Hopefully, in the future we can work together to develop technology and contribute to Indonesia’s development,” he said.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
