EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Diploma Three (D3) Physiotherapy Study Program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) continues to strengthen its commitment to preparing professional and competent healthcare personnel capable of contributing to public health services. Through a practice-based curriculum supported by adequate laboratory facilities and clinical practice opportunities, the program prepares graduates who are able to address various disorders of movement and body function comprehensively. This effort is carried out in response to the increasing demand for physiotherapy professionals across various healthcare service facilities.
The Head of the D3 Physiotherapy Study Program at UPNVJ, Mona Oktarina, explained that physiotherapy is a field of health science that focuses on the recovery, maintenance, and improvement of an individual’s movement abilities and bodily functions. Therefore, the educational process is designed not only to provide conceptual understanding but also to emphasize the mastery of practical clinical skills.
“UPNVJ’s D3 Physiotherapy Study Program provides practice-based learning through various laboratory activities and clinical practice supported by adequate learning facilities. Our curriculum is designed so that students not only understand the fundamental concepts of physiotherapy but also possess the technical skills required to perform patient treatment and rehabilitation,” said Mona during an interview on the UPNVJ campus, Friday (March 6, 2026).
In addition to on-campus learning, students also gain field practice experience in various healthcare service institutions. This program forms an essential part of the learning process, aimed at strengthening students’ professional competencies while enhancing their readiness to enter the workforce after graduation.
According to Mona, this clinical practice experience provides students with the opportunity to directly understand the dynamics of healthcare services and interact with patients under the supervision of professional practitioners. Through this approach, students are trained to develop analytical abilities, therapeutic skills, and professional ethics in physiotherapy practice.
Graduates of the D3 Physiotherapy Study Program at UPNVJ have broad career opportunities, ranging from hospitals, physiotherapy clinics, and medical rehabilitation centers to sports facilities and other healthcare services. As public awareness of the importance of medical rehabilitation and physical mobility continues to grow, the demand for competent physiotherapy professionals is also increasing.
Through the development of a curriculum that adapts to the needs of the healthcare industry and the continuous improvement of learning facilities, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta strives to produce physiotherapy graduates who are competent, possess integrity, and are ready to deliver professional healthcare services to the community. This effort aligns with the university’s commitment to strengthening the national health sector through the provision of high-quality and competitive human resources.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
