EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Rector of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Anter Venus, accompanied by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ir. Henry Binsar Hamonangan Sitorus, S.T., M.T., conducted an inspection of facilities within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) on Thursday (February 5, 2026). This activity was carried out to directly assess the readiness of facilities and infrastructure that support the teaching and learning activities of FISIP students.

During the inspection, Prof. Venus and Dr. Henry reviewed various academic support facilities, including newly built classrooms, reading rooms, and student relaxation areas. In addition, facilities supporting students’ non-academic interests and talents—both those that have been completed and those still under construction—were also given close attention.

Prof. Venus emphasized his commitment to continuously providing comfortable and representative facilities for all members of the academic community, particularly students. He paid close attention to even minor details throughout the inspection and sought to ensure that any facilities deemed insufficient could be promptly improved for the collective comfort of campus users.

“Good facilities will optimally support the learning process and student activities. We want students to feel comfortable and productive within the campus environment, especially at FISIP,” said Prof. Venus during the inspection.

On this occasion, Prof. Venus also took the time to interact directly with FISIP students and alumni. He personally asked for their views on the various changes and facility improvements that have been implemented at FISIP. One FISIP alumnus encountered in the FISIP Reading Room expressed admiration for the university’s and the faculty’s new appearance.

“I am truly amazed by the changes that exist today. The facilities are far more complete and modern, greatly supporting student activities, both for studying and discussions. FISIP UPNVJ now feels much more vibrant,” he stated.

Meanwhile, one FISIP student named Yumna also conveyed her appreciation for the renovations and the addition of facilities carried out by the faculty and the university. According to her, the presence of new spaces provides alternative areas for students to gather and work on assignments together.

“It’s much better now, Sir. There are new study spaces, and we can relax, chat, or work on assignments together with friends,” she said.

Through this inspection, UPNVJ hopes that the development of facilities at FISIP will continue in a sustainable manner in order to create an academic environment that is conducive, inclusive, and supportive of student potential development in both academic and non-academic fields.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
