
EduASiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ), through its Office of International Affairs (OIA), continued its delegation visit to the Bandung City Government to discuss the university’s internationalization mechanisms and to introduce the programs and activities of the OIA. The meeting was held at the Bandung City Government Office and was attended by the Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Iskandar Zulkarnain, S.T., M.M., who was represented by Christine Mugiarestu from the Cooperation Bureau along with her team, on Friday, January 30, 2026.
The activity aimed to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration between higher education institutions and local governments, thereby fostering educational innovation that contributes to improving the quality of human resources and enhancing global competitiveness.
Dr. Bambang Susanto, M.A., a representative of the OIA of UPNVJ, stated that this agenda serves as a key strategy in strengthening the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through structured and sustainable international cooperation. UPNVJ presented various OIA programs, including student and faculty exchanges (inbound and outbound), joint research, joint publications, international seminars, global internships, and guest lectures, to open broader opportunities for collaboration with the Bandung City Government. The Bandung City Government welcomed the initiative positively, emphasizing the importance of synergy between educational institutions and government in promoting innovative research and regional human resource development.
Christine expressed the Bandung City Government’s openness to collaboration, particularly in education and research that can be aligned with regional policies. She encouraged that such cooperation should go beyond ceremonial activities and be implemented in a practical manner with tangible benefits for the community.
Through the strategic discussions, both parties explored potential support from the Bandung City Government in strengthening the implementation of UPNVJ’s international cooperation, including opportunities for collaboration with overseas partners owned by the Bandung City Government.
