EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) has officially activated a new elevator at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) to support accessibility for students with disabilities as well as other members of the academic community. The facility is integrated with a connecting bridge to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), allowing both faculties to utilize it to facilitate access to upper floors. This initiative reflects UPNVJ’s commitment to inclusive services, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of students with special needs so they can participate optimally in academic activities.
The Head of the Bureau of Planning, Finance, and General Affairs of UPNVJ, Dr. Ahmad Ahsin Thohari, S.H., M.H., explained that the provision of the elevator represents a strategic step toward improving the quality of campus facilities.
“As an institution with a national defense identity, we prioritize services for all students, including those with disabilities who require safe mobility facilities,” he stated during an interview with the UPNVJ Public Relations Team.
He added that the elevator also facilitates access for senior lecturers and elderly guests to classrooms on the third and fourth floors, with plans to expand similar facilities to other faculties as part of a long-term transformation.
Positive responses were also expressed by students, including Muhammad Faizin from the Management Study Program at FEB UPNVJ, who noted that the elevator is highly beneficial.
“This facility helps students with disabilities attend classes on upper floors, while also making it easier for elderly lecturers and visiting parents,” he said.
