The distribution was carried out at two locations, namely the Bukit Indah and Reulet areas. This scheme was implemented to facilitate beneficiaries while ensuring that the distribution was orderly and well-targeted.
The activity was led by the President of BEM Unimal, Muhammad Ilal Sinaga, together with the Chair of the Student Consultative Assembly (MPM) Chandra Hasibuan, the President of BEM FKIP Bagas Suanri, the Head of the Agro-technology Student Association (Himagrotek) Abiansyah, as well as the BEM Unimal team.
A total of 250 students received basic food packages containing essential daily necessities to help alleviate their living expenses during the post-disaster period.
The President of BEM Unimal, Muhammad Ilal Sinaga, stated that the initiative stemmed from concern over the conditions faced by a number of students.
“The distribution of basic food assistance arose from the concerns of fellow students who had not yet received aid. Therefore, BEM Unimal—with support from community service contributions by UNS lecturers—was able to distribute this assistance,” he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Yuda, expressed his appreciation for the assistance.
“Thank you to the senior students for the support; it means a great deal to all of us. I will always remember this kindness,” he said.
