EduAsiaNews, Medan – A total of 3,096 students out of 23,629 applicants have been admitted to Universitas Negeri Medan through the 2026 Achievement-Based National Selection (SNBP). Among the admitted students, 1,788 recipients of the KIP-K scholarship successfully passed the selection.

The Rector of UNIMED, Prof. Baharuddin, expressed his appreciation and congratulations to the students who successfully passed this year’s SNBP selection. He noted that this achievement reflects consistent academic performance and hard work throughout their schooling.

“It should be recognized that you have outperformed 23,629 applicants to gain admission to UNIMED. However, due to limited quota, only 3,096 students could be accepted. Therefore, parents and students who passed SNBP should be grateful to God for this accomplishment,” he stated.

The Rector also emphasized that the SNBP pathway prioritizes consistent academic achievements, report card grades, and accomplishments in various fields. He hopes that students admitted through this pathway will continue to demonstrate excellence throughout their studies at UNIMED.

For the tens of thousands of students who were not admitted through SNBP, the Rector encouraged them not to be discouraged, as they still have opportunities to compete through the UTBK-SNBT and Independent Selection pathways. “We encourage students who were not successful in SNBP to remain motivated and prepare thoroughly to register for the SNBT pathway, as registration will close on April 7, 2026. Additionally, UNIMED will open the Independent Selection pathway in June for those who wish to join our university,” he explained.

Following the announcement of the SNBP results, admitted students are expected to prepare the required documents for re-registration, which will take place from April 1–24, 2026, via https://devakad.unimed.ac.id/registrasi
. Further information on the re-registration process can be accessed through UNIMED’s official website and social media channels.
