EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – The Alumni Corps of the Student Regiment (Menwa) Battalion 6 of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a halalbihalal gathering at Ragunan Wildlife Park, Jakarta, on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The event, attended by approximately 150 alumni from various cohorts, served as a momentum to strengthen ties following Eid al-Fitr, while also reinforcing alumni consolidation to expand social and national contributions. The gathering reaffirmed the alumni’s commitment to remain actively engaged as part of civil society, contributing meaningfully within the community.
In a warm and collegial atmosphere, alumni discussed the importance of strengthening cross-professional collaboration as a strategic response to various social challenges. This spirit aligns with the core values of Menwa, which emphasize service, discipline, and loyalty as the foundation for building the role of its members in the public sphere.
The Advisor of the UPNVJ Menwa Alumni Corps, Colonel (Ret.) Saptarijaya, emphasized that Menwa alumni possess significant potential to act as agents of change across various fields of service. According to him, the strength of the alumni lies not only in their extensive network but also in their commitment to continuously generate positive impact within society.
“Menwa alumni must remain united and capable of making a positive impact in their respective environments,” he stated.
A similar view was expressed by Colonel (Ret.) Joko Rachmady, who underscored that unity serves as the primary foundation for building a strong, sustainable, and relevant alumni movement that addresses the nation’s current needs.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Menwa Battalion 6 UPNVJ Alumni Corps, Haris Iriyanto, outlined several programs that have been implemented by the organization. These include social initiatives, environmental awareness activities, and efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships with various stakeholders. Moving forward, the Alumni Corps aims to establish more structured collaborations to broaden the reach and impact of its programs on society.
This event demonstrates that the Menwa Battalion 6 UPNVJ Alumni Corps extends beyond merely maintaining internal connections among its members. More importantly, it is positioned as a driving force for tangible contributions to community development, while also reinforcing national values.
In line with the spirit of national defense (bela negara) that defines UPNVJ’s identity, strengthening alumni networks such as this represents a vital asset in expanding the institution’s societal impact. The consolidation of Menwa alumni is expected to continue generating initiatives that not only enhance internal solidarity but also strengthen social service aligned with the university’s core values.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
