EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — Dylont Ananda Setya Huraihira, a student of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), achieved an international accomplishment after becoming part of Bigetron by Vitality, which won the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competition at Games of the Future 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Dylont, known by his in-game name Shogun, and his teammates secured the championship title after defeating fellow Indonesian representatives ONIC 3–1 in the final on Sunday (August 9, 2026). The achievement brought a UPNVJ student onto one of the world’s international esports stages, where teams from various regions competed against one another.
Games of the Future 2026 took place from July 29 to August 9, 2026, featuring more than 800 participants from over 50 nationalities across eight sports and digital competition disciplines. The event, which combined sports, technology, and competitive gaming, offered total prize money of more than USD 4 million.
In the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang MOBA category, 16 international teams competed for a total prize pool of USD 900,000. Matches were held at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace in Astana. Bigetron by Vitality competed alongside teams such as Team Falcons, Team Spirit, Aurora Gaming, Selangor Red Giants, FUT Esports, and ONIC.
Dylont competed under the in-game name Shogun as the EXP laner for the Bigetron by Vitality squad. At Games of the Future 2026, he formed the lineup alongside Nnael, Moreno, EMANN, and Finn.
Bigetron’s journey to the top of the podium was marked by intense competition. In the group stage, the team finished at the top of Group B. Bigetron then advanced to the semifinals, where they defeated Aurora Gaming 2–1 to secure a place in the grand final.
The final featured an all-Indonesian showdown between Bigetron by Vitality and ONIC. In the best-of-five series, Bigetron closed out the match with a 3–1 victory, securing the Games of the Future 2026 MLBB championship title. The Games of the Future organizers also listed Bigetron by Vitality as the champion of the Mobile MOBA category, ahead of ONIC, Aurora Gaming, Team Falcons, and several other international teams.
The title also marked Bigetron by Vitality’s first international MLBB championship. As champions, the team received the top prize of USD 315,000 from the total USD 900,000 prize pool allocated for the category.
From Campus to the Global Stage
For Dylont, competing in Kazakhstan was more than just a competitive journey; it was also an opportunity to represent UPNVJ as a student on the international stage.
“Being able to carry the name of UPN Veteran Jakarta to an international competition is certainly a great source of pride for me. Games of the Future provided a very valuable experience because I had the opportunity to meet and compete against players from various countries. From that experience, I learned that skill, discipline, communication, and teamwork are essential to competing at the international level,” said Dylont.
The experience demonstrates that international-level achievements are built through training, consistency, adaptability, and teamwork. For students who are also active as professional players, maintaining their academic commitments while meeting the demands of competitive gaming is an important part of their personal development.
Dylont said that the support of his family, team, friends, and university community had been an integral part of his journey.
“I am grateful to my family, team, friends, and UPN Veteran Jakarta for their continued support. This achievement is not just about me, but also about how we can bring the university’s name to a broader stage. I hope this accomplishment can motivate other UPNVJ students to have the courage to pursue achievements in their respective fields,” he said.
Dylont’s achievement also demonstrates the expanding opportunities for student accomplishments amid the growth of the creative industry and digital technology. Esports has evolved into a global competitive ecosystem that requires technical skills, strategic thinking, communication, discipline, and teamwork.
For UPNVJ, the achievement further strengthens its students’ record of international accomplishments while contributing to the university’s efforts to build a high-achieving and globally competitive student development ecosystem. As part of UPNVJ’s development direction, Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., places student development within an achievement-oriented, inclusive, collaborative, and Bela Negara character-based ecosystem, including by strengthening support for students’ interests, talents, and achievements at both national and international levels.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
