EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Vice Rector for General Affairs and Finance of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Netti Herawati, officially opened the MSME Bazaar and launched the series of UCT Day 2026 activities at Plaza Soemari, UPNVJ Rectorate Building, Pondok Labu, South Jakarta, on Thursday (September 3, 2026). The event formed part of UPNVJ’s efforts to strengthen its entrepreneurial ecosystem, support the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and enhance the university’s reputation through strategic institutional programs.
The opening of the MSME Bazaar was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Prof. Netti, accompanied by the Head of the UPNVJ Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) and the Head of Pondok Labu Urban Village. The presence of the MSME Bazaar on campus provided a collaborative space for the academic community, business owners, and local residents to showcase their products while expanding their marketing networks.
In her remarks, Prof. Netti stated that the MSME Bazaar serves not only as a means of product promotion but also as part of efforts to create a campus environment that supports the growth of entrepreneurship.
“Hopefully, this bazaar can serve as a platform for MSME entrepreneurs to introduce their products, expand their networks, and enhance their capacity to develop their businesses. We want the UPNVJ environment to be not only a place for learning and working, but also a space where entrepreneurial activities can grow,” said Prof. Netti.
According to Prof. Netti, higher education institutions play an important role in supporting the sustainability of MSMEs through the application of knowledge, innovation, mentoring, and technology. Collaboration among universities, local governments, and business owners is key to creating a more adaptive and competitive business ecosystem.
“We hope that activities like this can continue to be developed sustainably. MSMEs need access to knowledge, innovation, technology, and networks. This is where higher education institutions can play a role in making tangible contributions to society,” she added.
The MSME Bazaar featured a variety of business products available to the UPNVJ academic community and residents in the surrounding area. In addition to providing marketing opportunities for business owners, the event also strengthened social ties between UPNVJ and the Pondok Labu community through activities that generate mutual benefits.
UCT Day 2026 Discusses Enhancing UPNVJ’s International Reputation
Following the opening of the MSME Bazaar, the series of activities continued with UCT Day 2026, which featured the Dissemination of 2025 Program Achievements and the Agenda for Enhancing UPNVJ’s International Reputation. The event served as a forum for presenting the university’s achievements while formulating strategies to strengthen UPNVJ’s competitiveness at the global level.
Through UCT Day, various achievements from programs implemented in 2025 were presented as a basis for evaluation and strengthening synergy among university units.
