EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The publication of a Bela Negara book was one of the highlights of the 26th Anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FH UPNVJ), held on Friday, 28 August 2026. The publication reaffirms FH UPNVJ’s commitment to advancing the values of Bela Negara through academic perspectives and legal scholarship. The anniversary celebration also provided an opportunity to reflect on the Faculty’s achievements in academics, student affairs, partnerships, and institutional development throughout this year’s anniversary program.

Chair of the 26th Anniversary Committee, Abdul Kholiq, said in his report that the celebration marked the culmination of a series of activities held over several months.

According to Abdul Kholiq, the academic and non-academic programs involved students, faculty members, administrative staff, alumni, and a number of FH UPNVJ partners. The activities included student competitions, sports and community-building activities, seminars, and the 8th National Conference on Law Studies (NCOLS) 2026.

“Many activities have been organized as part of the FH UPNVJ Anniversary program up to this point,” Abdul Kholiq said in his report.

The publication of the Bela Negara book was among the key highlights of the anniversary celebration. The academic work represents FH UPNVJ’s effort to translate the university’s Bela Negara identity into the development of legal scholarship.

For FH UPNVJ, Bela Negara is not merely an institutional identity. Its values are also reflected in education, research, scholarly publications, and academic contributions to legal issues emerging in society. This approach is consistent with the Faculty’s development strategy, which integrates legal studies with the values of Bela Negara.

Dean of FH UPNVJ, Dr. Suherman, S.H., LL.M., also highlighted a number of developments and achievements made by the Faculty. He expressed his appreciation to the entire academic community for their contributions to strengthening FH UPNVJ’s performance in education, student affairs, research, publications, and institutional partnerships.

In recent years, FH UPNVJ has made significant progress in institutional development. Its Bachelor of Law Study Program received an “Excellent” accreditation rating from Indonesia’s National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2025 and had previously obtained international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). These achievements provide a strong foundation for FH UPNVJ to further enhance the quality of its education and strengthen its competitiveness nationally and internationally.

The Faculty has also continued to expand its network through collaboration with universities, government institutions, professional organizations, and various institutions in the legal sector. Throughout 2026, FH UPNVJ has developed academic and international partnerships while expanding opportunities for students to engage in legal education and research aligned with professional needs.

UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., expressed his appreciation for the progress made by the Faculty of Law. He said the Faculty’s achievements reflected its improving performance and growing strategic position among law faculties at Indonesia’s public universities.

“I see that the Faculty of Law at UPNVJ is performing very well,” Venus said.

The Rector pointed to the Faculty’s external recognition, including the opportunity to establish cooperation with a Directorate General within the Ministry of Law. According to Venus, among the many public universities in Indonesia, FH UPNVJ was one of only five public universities given the opportunity to participate in the partnership.

He emphasized that such recognition should serve as a foundation for strengthening the institution and expanding FH UPNVJ’s contribution to national legal development. The Faculty’s achievements, he noted, should not stop at awards or institutional recognition, but should translate into tangible benefits for students, society, and stakeholders in the legal sector.

The publication of the Bela Negara book as part of the Faculty’s 26th Anniversary celebration was also considered particularly relevant to UPNVJ’s identity as a Bela Negara Campus. Through legal scholarship, the values of Bela Negara can continue to be developed into academic perspectives, research, and reference materials that respond to social change and contemporary legal challenges.

For the Rector, FH UPNVJ’s 26-year journey provides a strong foundation for further progress. Enhancing academic quality, increasing scholarly productivity, expanding strategic partnerships, and strengthening the Faculty’s Bela Negara identity are expected to continue hand in hand, enabling FH UPNVJ to become increasingly competitive and make a meaningful contribution to legal education and the development of Indonesia’s legal syste.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
