EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is strengthening its ecosystem for research, community service, innovation, and entrepreneurship through the UPNVJ Research, Community Service, and Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2026, which is being held for five days from August 31 to September 4, 2026, at Plaza Soemari, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, Jakarta. The exhibition showcases a wide range of works, achievements, and mentoring services aimed at creating opportunities for collaboration and encouraging research outcomes produced by the university community to generate broader benefits for society.
The series of activities began with the Seminar on Strengthening a Research- and Community Service-Based Entrepreneurship Ecosystem for Impactful Campuses, held on Monday (August 31, 2026), from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, UPNVJ.
The seminar featured Assistant Deputy for the Expansion of Entrepreneurial Financing at the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Ir. Bastian, M.B.A., as a speaker. The event opened with remarks by Head of the UPNVJ Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Dr. Sri Lestari Wahyuningroem, and UPNVJ Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Henry Binsar Hamonangan Sitorus, S.T., M.T.
The discussion was moderated by the Coordinator of the UPNVJ Master’s Program in Management, Dr. Ranila Suciati, S.E., M.M., CFP.
Through the seminar, UPNVJ emphasized that research and community service activities should not stop at academic outputs. Knowledge, research findings, innovations, and community empowerment programs have the potential to be further developed into products, services, business models, and solutions that generate social and economic benefits.
This spirit was further expanded through the exhibition, which runs through Friday (September 4, 2026). Over the five-day period, Plaza Soemari serves as a meeting space for members of the university community to gain a closer understanding of UPNVJ’s ecosystem of research, community service, innovation, publications, entrepreneurship, and various student-led initiatives.
A wide range of works and achievements are showcased through faculty research groups, research and study centers, research and community service programs, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, publication and academic reputation programs, as well as various initiatives developed by UPNVJ students.
The exhibition serves not merely as a showcase for the work of the university community. The UPNVJ Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) is also providing Mentoring and Consultation Services, which visitors can access to further develop their ideas and works so that they can generate broader benefits.
These services include the Halal Center, which provides consultation and mentoring related to the halal ecosystem; the Intellectual Property Center (Sentra KI), which offers consultation on intellectual property protection as well as works and innovations; the Research Ethics Committee (KEP), which provides information and assistance concerning research ethics; and LPPM Press, which provides consultation on publication and book publishing.
The availability of these various services in a single venue is expected to facilitate lecturers, students, researchers, and other members of the university community in taking an idea through a more comprehensive development process, ranging from research and innovation development to intellectual property protection, fulfillment of ethical requirements, publication, and opportunities for downstream commercialization and entrepreneurship development.
The exhibition also creates opportunities for researchers from different disciplines to connect with students and other units across the university. Such interactions are important for fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration while bringing together individuals and groups with complementary ideas, research findings, development needs, and expertise.
The organization of the exhibition and seminar is aligned with UPNVJ’s development direction, which positions research and community service as key drivers of the university’s transformation. Strengthening academic publications, research centers of excellence, research commercialization and downstreaming, as well as collaboration with government institutions, industry, communities, and higher education institutions, are essential to ensuring that knowledge generated by the university delivers tangible benefits.
Through this agenda, UPNVJ continues to build an ecosystem that connects research, community service, innovation, publications, and entrepreneurship within an integrated impact-creation chain.
