EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) will hold its 2026 Campus Life Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB) on August 10–11, 2026, at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan, Jakarta. The event, which will be attended by thousands of new students for the 2026/2027 academic year, carries the theme “Young People with National Defense Character, Making a Real Impact for the Nation.”

UPNVJ’s 2026 PKKMB is designed not only to introduce new students to university life but also to provide them with an initial foundation for adapting to the academic environment, understanding national values, and developing the character and competencies needed to navigate a rapidly changing world.

To broaden the perspectives of new students, UPNVJ has invited speakers from a wide range of fields. They include Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Prof. Stella Christie, Ph.D., Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Head of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Suyudi Ario Seto, public figure and educational content creator Jerome Polin Sijabat, B.Eng., and social activist Inayah Wulandari Wahid.

The participation of speakers from government, education, science, employment, social affairs, and creative industries is expected to provide new students with diverse perspectives on the importance of education, personal development, social responsibility, and the role of young people in contributing to society.

UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, M.A., Comm., said that PKKMB represents an important first step in establishing a strong foundation for students throughout their university journey.

“PKKMB marks an important starting point for new students to become familiar with the academic environment, the values developed at UPNVJ, and the various opportunities available to them during their studies. We want students to have a positive initial experience and be prepared to grow, learn, and contribute in their respective fields,” Venus said.

According to Venus, the national defense values that form part of UPNVJ’s institutional identity need to be translated into meaningful actions in students’ daily lives. These values can be demonstrated through integrity, discipline, responsibility, concern for others, a strong commitment to learning, and the use of knowledge to benefit society.

The theme “Young People with National Defense Character, Making a Real Impact for the Nation” was chosen to reinforce this message. New students are expected to understand that higher education is not solely about academic achievement, but also about character building and developing an awareness of their role in society.

UPNVJ’s 2026 PKKMB will also provide a platform for accomplished students from several faculties, including the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Engineering, to share their experiences with new students.

Their involvement is expected to give new students a clearer picture of the learning process, achievement development, student activities, and various opportunities for personal and professional growth available at UPNVJ.

To provide broader access to the event, UPNVJ will also livestream the PKKMB activities through the official UPN Veteran Jakarta YouTube channel, allowing parents and members of the public to follow the program online.

Through the 2026 PKKMB, UPNVJ hopes that new students will begin their academic journey with a strong understanding of the campus environment, their responsibilities as university students, and the national defense values that underpin the university’s identity. UPNVJ remains committed to building an educational ecosystem that enables students to grow academically, develop strong character, adapt to change, and make meaningful contributions to society.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
