UNS Homecoming 2026 Strengthens Alumni Networks and Cross-Generational Collaboration

EduAsiaNews, Surakarta — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, in collaboration with the Ikatan Alumni UNS (IKA UNS), held the UNS Homecoming 2026 at Smesco Tower, South Jakarta, on Sunday (April 12, 2026). The event served as a meeting platform for alumni across different cohorts and faculties to strengthen connections, expand networks, and foster collaboration across various fields.

Carrying the theme “UNStoppable Back Together, Better Than Ever,” the event was attended by UNS Rector Hartono, members of the university’s leadership, Indonesia’s Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono, Vice Governor of Gorontalo Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie, Member of the House of Representatives Rusli Habibie, Chairman of IKA UNS and Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, Chairman of the IKA UNS Advisory Board Ravik Karsidi, Director General of Cultural Protection and Tradition at the Ministry of Culture Restu Gunawan, President Director of PT Hutama Karya (Persero) and Chairman of IKA UNS for the 2021–2025 period Budi Harto, along with advisory boards and hundreds of alumni from various regions.

Chairman of IKA UNS, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, stated that UNS Homecoming 2026 is not merely an annual agenda, but a strategic initiative to strengthen the role of alumni in supporting the advancement of their alma mater and society.

“Today marks an important moment. This occasion is not only about reminiscing about our alma mater, but also about reinforcing our bonds, expanding our networks, and reaffirming our role as part of the greater UNS family,” he said.

He added that the event was designed as an inclusive, relevant, and impactful platform that brings together alumni from different generations. According to him, the strength of alumni lies not only in their numbers but also in their ability to connect, support one another, and create shared value.

Various programs were featured during the event, including Gathering & Networking, Career Hub, Creative Lab, Entertainment, Photobox, Artisan Market, and other interactive activities. Through these programs, alumni were expected to build new connections, reactivate existing networks, and discover meaningful collaboration opportunities.

UNS Homecoming 2026 also forms part of IKA UNS’s strategic work program in strengthening the alumni ecosystem. This aligns with the organization’s key objectives, including governance enhancement and digitalization, data integration and alumni empowerment, strengthening branding and communication, increasing social contributions and services, as well as fostering program synergy and strategic partnerships.

In his remarks, Rector Hartono highlighted UNS’s achievements at both national and global levels in recent years, along with future development roadmaps. He expressed appreciation for the event as a reflection of the strong bond between alumni and their alma mater. The presence of alumni from diverse professions and regions demonstrates UNS’s extensive network, which serves as a valuable asset for the institution’s future growth.

Through this event, UNS and IKA UNS hope to further strengthen the synergy between alumni and the university, enabling continued meaningful contributions to the nation.
