EduAsiaNews, Srakarta — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening human resource capacity by hosting the Workshop–Benchmarking for Educational Staff (Tendik) in the Field of Human Resource (HR) Analysts of Apparatus under the Tendik Berdampak Program: Strengthening Competence and Professionalism for 2026. The event was held from April 6–10, 2026, at The Alana Hotel & Convention Center Solo.

The workshop was inaugurated online by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., on Tuesday (April 7, 2026). In his remarks, he emphasized that this program is not merely training but part of an effort to build a stronger and more sustainable foundation for higher education.

He highlighted that the presence of Tendik plays a crucial role in supporting the quality and competitiveness of universities. Without the contribution of educational staff, it is difficult to achieve a high-quality higher education system.

“The role of Tendik may seem small and often invisible on the surface, but it is actually strategic and essential. Various activities carried out by Tendik, though seemingly simple, make a significant contribution to ensuring that university agendas run smoothly and continue to improve in quality,” said Prof. Brian.

Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Resources, Prof. Dr. E. Muhtar, S.Pd., M.Si., CFrA., stated in his remarks that the Tendik Berdampak Program is a strategic initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) in 2026 aimed at enhancing the technical, professional, and socio-cultural competencies of educational staff in higher education.

Eight universities were appointed by Kemdiktisaintek as locations for the Workshop–Benchmarking for Tendik:

IPB University for Education Laboratory Officers
Universitas Gadjah Mada for Computer Officers
Universitas Indonesia for Librarians
Universitas Padjajaran for Policy Analysts
Universitas Airlangga for Archivists
UNS for HR Analysts
Binus University for Public Relations Officers
Universitas Terbuka for Digital Module Utilization Facilities

“UNS was entrusted to host the event for HR Analysts of Apparatus because it is considered to have good human resource governance as well as institutional capacity capable of supporting the improvement of educational staff quality at the national level,” explained Prof. Muhtar on Tuesday (April 7, 2026).

He further emphasized that this appointment represents both a vote of confidence and an honor for UNS to contribute to the development of HR capacity within higher education.

“Through hosting this event, UNS reaffirms its role as a higher education institution actively supporting the government’s strategic programs, particularly in creating educational staff who are professional, competent, and impactful for the advancement of education in Indonesia,” he added.

The workshop–benchmarking activities were designed to provide participants with comprehensive capacity building through various training sessions, discussions, and sharing of best practices. Participants were also encouraged to develop competencies in recruitment, performance management, career planning and development, as well as optimizing the use of information systems and technology in personnel services. Equally important, the program serves as a platform for building collaboration and networking among HR managers from public and private universities to strengthen the implementation of best practices in their respective institutions.

“We hope that Tendik, especially HR Analysts of Apparatus, will be able to enhance their professionalism and capacity in managing human resources that are adaptive, innovative, and highly competitive.

In addition, this activity is expected to strengthen synergy among universities in supporting the transformation of higher education HR management in Indonesia,” concluded Prof. Muhtar.
