EduAsiaNews, Bandung — Universitas Padjadjaran, through its Center for the Development and Implementation of the Academic Health System (PPI AHS), is promoting the implementation of interprofessional collaboration and team-based care in primary healthcare services. This initiative was part of a Workshop Stakeholder Meeting held at the Joint Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the Rectorate Building in Jatinangor on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

The event formed part of a broader effort to strengthen the implementation of the Academic Health System (AHS) at Unpad, as well as a follow-up to previous discussions on the development of health education and interprofessional collaboration within the academic health system. At this stage, discussions focused on aligning health workforce education with the needs of primary healthcare services, such as community health centers (puskesmas) and clinics, which serve as the frontline of public healthcare delivery.

The workshop was attended by representatives from health-focused higher education institutions, healthcare practitioners, managers of primary healthcare facilities, and the Academic Health System development team at Unpad. Participants engaged in participatory discussions and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to identify key challenges in primary healthcare services, as well as opportunities to strengthen interprofessional collaboration in healthcare practice.

Head of the AHS Development and Implementation Center at Unpad, Meita Dhamayanti, emphasized the importance of synergy between educational institutions and healthcare service providers. “The involvement of various stakeholders is essential to ensure that the education of health professionals aligns with the evolving needs of healthcare services in the field,” she stated.

The discussion, facilitated by Dwi Agustian, encouraged participants to map out challenges in primary healthcare services while exploring opportunities for implementing interprofessional collaboration and team-based care in practice.

Through the FGD sessions, participants formulated initial recommendations to strengthen health education curricula, making them more responsive to the needs of primary healthcare services. The discussions also produced a preliminary mapping of opportunities for involving health professional students in supporting primary healthcare services through collaborative approaches.

The outcomes of the workshop are expected to serve as a foundation for developing transformative learning methods and collaborative practices within the Academic Health System framework at Universitas Padjadjaran, while also strengthening the integration of education, healthcare services, and health system development.
