
EduAsiaNews, Jimbaran — Universitas Udayana (Unud) welcomed a delegation from Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan, in a visit marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The event took place in the Language Room of the Rectorate Building at the Unud Jimbaran Campus on Thursday (April 2, 2026).
The MCUT delegation was led directly by its President, Prof. Dr. Thu-Hua Liu, accompanied by Provost Prof. Dr. Fong-Rey (Kevin) Liu, along with other academics and representatives. From Universitas Udayana, the event was attended by the Rector, Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, representatives from the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Head of the International Office.
In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Udayana stated that this visit represents an important momentum to strengthen institutional ties while opening broader opportunities for academic collaboration between the two universities.
The signing of the MoU marks a significant milestone, symbolizing the beginning of a partnership based on mutual respect and reciprocity. The scope of the collaboration includes student and faculty exchanges, joint research, academic information exchange, and various other academic activities.
In a separate interview, the President of Ming Chi University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Thu-Hua Liu, expressed his expectations for the partnership.
“We aim to build a long-term relationship with Universitas Udayana, not only through student exchanges but also by opening opportunities for international research collaboration,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Universitas Udayana emphasized that this cooperation aligns with the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
“Today, we signed an MoU with MCUT Taiwan as part of a collaborative effort to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. One of the most exciting aspects is the student exchange program, which will undoubtedly provide significant benefits. Moving forward, Unud will continue to expand its international collaborations,” he remarked.
Through this partnership, both institutions are expected to enhance research capacity, improve the quality of international education, and strengthen relations between Indonesia and Taiwan through the higher education sector.
