EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has reaffirmed its commitment to becoming an Impactful Campus through the implementation of UPNVJ Community Territory (UCT) Day 2026, organized by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) in collaboration with the UCT Center at Nusantara 1, UPNVJ, on Thursday (September 3, 2026). The event served as a platform for disseminating the outcomes of community service programs while expanding collaboration among the university, local government, communities, and stakeholders in the areas surrounding the campus.
The UCT Program represents UPNVJ’s commitment to fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the area of community service, with a focus on generating tangible benefits for communities within a 3–5-kilometer radius of the campus. Through UCT, UPNVJ has developed a needs-based collaboration model that connects academic expertise with real-world challenges in the surrounding community.
Head of LPPM UPNVJ, Dr. Sri Lestari Wahyuningroem, emphasized that UCT is not merely a community service program, but also serves as a platform for sustainable collaboration between the university and the community.
“UCT is not merely a community service program; it is a platform for building collaboration between UPNVJ, the community, and stakeholders in the areas surrounding the campus. We want to ensure that the knowledge, innovations, and resources possessed by the university can deliver tangible benefits that are directly felt by the community,” said Dr. Sri Lestari.
According to her, the sustainability of the UCT Program depends heavily on synergy between the university and various stakeholders. Through UCT Day, UPNVJ not only presents the achievements of ongoing programs but also creates opportunities to develop new forms of collaboration based on community needs.
The UCT Center itself was officially inaugurated in December 2025 as a collaboration hub supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of various community empowerment programs. The center is expected to serve as a bridge connecting the UPNVJ academic community with local communities, local governments, and other strategic partners.
Dissemination of Needs-Based Community Service Programs
One of the main agendas of UCT Day 2026 was the Dissemination of Community Service Activities under the UPNVJ Community Territory Scheme. During the session, several UPNVJ lecturers presented the outcomes of community service programs implemented in collaboration with local communities.
The first program was presented by Dr. dr. Tiwuk Susantiningsih, M.Biomed., Sp.KKLP, through a program entitled “Training on the Preparation of Chicken Porridge and Moringa Leaves as Complementary Feeding for Infants for PKK Cadres in Pangkalan Jati Village, Cinere, Depok.” The program focused on improving community understanding of infant nutritional needs through the utilization of locally available food ingredients.
Next, Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si. presented the “First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK)” program, which highlighted the importance of nutrition, health, and the role of families in supporting children’s growth and development from the earliest stages of life.
In the cultural sector, Dwi Fajar Saputra, S.Sos., MM presented the program “Strategies for Managing Cultural Knowledge of the Indonesian Kite Collection through Curation and Preservation Activities at the Indonesian Kite Museum.” The program represents UPNVJ’s contribution to safeguarding the sustainability of cultural knowledge through collection management and preservation.
Meanwhile, Sigit Pradana, ST., MT. presented the program “Optimizing the UPN Veteran Jakarta Campus Waste Bank as a Waste Collection Hub for the Pondok Labu Community.” The initiative demonstrates UPNVJ’s contribution to promoting sustainable environmental management through collaboration between the university and the surrounding community.
These four programs reflect the broad scope of UPNVJ’s community service initiatives, encompassing various sectors ranging from public health, family resilience, and cultural preservation to environmental management.
Strengthening Networks through Stakeholder Dialogue and MSME Bazaar
In addition to the dissemination of community service programs, UCT Day 2026 also provided a forum for dialogue through a panel discussion and stakeholder feedback session moderated by Head of the UPNVJ Center for Community Service, Dr. Firlia Ayu Arini, M.KM.
The forum brought together input from various stakeholders to evaluate program implementation while identifying community needs as a basis for developing future community service activities.
UCT Center Coordinator, Dwi Arwandi Yogi Saputra, SKM., MKM, explained that the UCT Center was designed as an interactive space that brings together the academic community, local communities, and regional partners.
“The UCT Center serves as a platform to strengthen coordination, communication, and program implementation so that community service initiatives can be carried out in a more focused manner and generate sustainable impact,” he explained.
UCT Day also featured an MSME and Community Bazaar as part of efforts to strengthen community economic empowerment while expanding interaction between the university and its surrounding communities.
UPNVJ Promotes a Campus that Creates Tangible Impact
Through UCT Day 2026, UPNVJ reaffirmed that higher education institutions have a strategic role in providing science- and knowledge-based solutions for society. UCT serves as one of the instruments to ensure that the university’s presence delivers tangible benefits to the surrounding communities.
UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm., emphasized that the concept of an Impactful Campus reflects UPNVJ’s commitment to providing higher education that not only produces outstanding graduates but also makes tangible contributions through research, innovation, and community service.
According to Prof. Anter Venus, collaboration between universities and communities is key to developing programs that remain relevant to contemporary needs and challenges. By strengthening the UCT Center, UPNVJ continues to foster an open and inclusive academic ecosystem capable of generating sustainable benefits for society.
As part of the UCT Day 2026 series of activities, UPNVJ will also provide Free Health Screening Services for the general public on Friday (September 4, 2026), from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) at the First UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Clinic, next to Beska Bean. The services include blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid tests, as well as breast cancer risk screening through breast self-examination (SADARI).
