EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The D3 Information Systems Study Program of the Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is designed as a vocational education program that emphasizes programming skills and data processing. The program is developed with a state defense character, the strengthening of soft skills, and a global competitiveness orientation to respond to the rapidly evolving needs of the digital industry.

The Coordinator of the D3 Information Systems Study Program at UPNVJ, Andhika Octa Indarso, M.MSI, in an interview with UPNVJ Public Relations in early March 2026, explained that the program’s strength lies in its Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum. Through this approach, the learning process is designed to ensure that students not only understand theoretical concepts but are also able to demonstrate competencies required in the professional world.

“We implement an OBE-based curriculum that integrates project-based learning with real industry case studies. This curriculum is combined with business and technology aspects, encouraging students to develop programming skills as well as data processing capabilities,” said Andhika.

He added that the strategic location of the Faculty of Computer Science at UPNVJ within the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area provides added value for students. This location offers broader access to the industrial ecosystem, including technology companies, startups, and government institutions that require skilled digital professionals.

To align with labor market demands, the D3 Information Systems Program at UPNVJ offers three specialization tracks: Application Developer, Business Intelligence, and Junior Business Analyst. These concentrations are designed based on competency standards relevant to current industry needs.

In the Application Developer track, students are prepared to develop competencies in building and developing innovative software solutions. Graduates from this track have career prospects as web developers, mobile application developers, full stack developers, and other professions in application development.

Meanwhile, the Business Intelligence track equips students with the ability to analyze business data, generate strategic insights, and support technology-based decision-making processes. Graduates from this concentration have career opportunities as business intelligence analysts and other professions related to data processing and business analytics.

The Junior Business Analyst track is designed to prepare graduates who are capable of bridging business needs with information technology solutions. These competencies are increasingly important amid ongoing digital transformation, which encourages organizations to operate more effectively, measurably, and in a data-driven manner.

In addition to technical competencies, students of the D3 Information Systems Program at UPNVJ are also equipped with soft skills relevant to the demands of the professional world, particularly in an era of growing attention to digital ethics, integrity, discipline, and adaptability. These qualities form an essential part of the identity of UPNVJ graduates as a state defense-oriented university.

Andhika emphasized that the D3 Information Systems Program does not only aim to produce graduates who are ready to enter the workforce, but also digital talents who can contribute meaningfully to Indonesia’s development. According to him, an adaptive academic environment and a curriculum connected to industry needs are crucial foundations for preparing professional vocational graduates.

Through these strengths, the D3 Information Systems Program at UPNVJ has become one of the options for prospective students who wish to pursue a career in the field of information technology. In line with UPNVJ’s commitment to producing outstanding and impactful graduates, the program is expected to continue strengthening its role in developing digital human resources who are ready to face future challenges.

As part of the university’s efforts to expand its contribution to higher education, the Rector of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, emphasized the importance of developing study programs that are adaptive to changing times, closely aligned with industry needs, and firmly grounded in the values of state defense. This policy direction underscores UPNVJ’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only technically competent but also possess integrity and competitiveness.
