EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has once again achieved global recognition. Its leading study programs, the Bachelor’s (S1) and Master’s (S2) in Agribusiness, have officially followed the success of other programs by obtaining full accreditation from the international body ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik).
This achievement is stated in the ASIIN Accreditation Commission’s decree dated March 27, 2026. Based on the decision, the Agribusiness Study Programs are declared to meet international standards, with accreditation valid until September 30, 2030.
The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Husni Teja Sukmana, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that this accomplishment serves as concrete evidence of the faculty’s commitment to delivering globally competitive education. He emphasized that this recognition is not merely a title, but a reflection of the dedication of the entire academic community in maintaining academic quality.
“This international accreditation marks a new milestone for FST, particularly for the Agribusiness Study Programs. It demonstrates that our curriculum and learning processes are aligned with internationally recognized standards,” he remarked.
The Agribusiness Study Program at UIN Jakarta focuses on the urban agribusiness sector (urban farming). To support research implementation and student practicum, the program is equipped with greenhouse facilities located in the PPG Campus area in Sawangan, Depok, West Java.
The success of the S1 and S2 Agribusiness programs further extends the list of ASIIN-accredited programs within FST, following earlier achievements by the Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics programs.
For reference, ASIIN is an international accreditation agency that applies an Outcome-Based Accreditation approach. In its evaluation process, ASIIN emphasizes the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), requiring institutions to demonstrate the achievement of graduate competencies (Program Outcomes) and a strong commitment to delivering learning processes that meet global standards in science and technology.
