EduAsiaNews, Depok — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has expanded its parking facilities by providing UPNVJ Parking Area 2 on Jalan Rangu, Pangkalan Jati, Cinere, Depok. Located approximately 200 meters from the Pondok Labu Campus, the 1,000-square-meter facility can accommodate up to 400 two-wheeled vehicles and is intended to support student mobility, particularly for the 2026 cohort of new students.

The provision of the new parking area is part of UPNVJ’s efforts to respond to growing demand for parking space as academic activities on campus continue to increase. Its relatively close location to the Pondok Labu Campus allows students to park their vehicles outside the main campus area before continuing to their classrooms.

The availability of UPNVJ Parking Area 2 is also expected to help reduce vehicle congestion within the campus. By distributing parking capacity to a nearby supporting location, traffic around the Pondok Labu Campus can be managed more efficiently while creating a more comfortable environment for academic activities.

The Head of UPNVJ’s General Affairs Division said the additional facility was part of the university’s efforts to improve infrastructure and meet students’ needs.

“The addition of UPNVJ Parking Area 2 is one solution to meet students’ parking needs, particularly those of the 2026 cohort. Its location, only about 200 meters from the Pondok Labu Campus, provides easy access while supporting a more orderly, safe, and comfortable campus environment,” he said.

UPNVJ Parking Area 2 is equipped with vehicle circulation lanes, parking markings, lighting, a monitoring system, and parking attendants. These facilities are intended to ensure that students’ vehicles are parked in an orderly manner while they attend academic activities on campus.

For two-wheeled vehicles, UPNVJ has set a parking fee of Rp1,500 per vehicle. The fee is intended to support the operation and maintenance of the parking facility, allowing services to be managed in an orderly and sustainable manner.

The parking area is located on Jalan Rangu, Pangkalan Jati Subdistrict, Cinere District, Depok City, approximately 200 meters from the Pondok Labu Campus. With an area of around 1,000 square meters and a capacity of up to 400 motorcycles, the facility serves as one of UPNVJ’s supporting areas for student mobility.

The provision of UPNVJ Parking Area 2 complements the university’s ongoing efforts to improve facilities supporting academic activities. Previously, the development of land for parking areas and multifunctional public spaces had also been identified as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen campus infrastructure.

Through the addition of this facility, UPNVJ continues to promote a campus environment that is orderly, safe, comfortable, and focused on improving student services. Strengthening supporting infrastructure is essential to ensure that the growth in the number and activities of the university community is accompanied by adequate campus facilities.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
