EduAsiaNews, Jakarta– Appreciation is extended to seven public universities that have successfully placed their study programs among the most competitive academic programs in the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi / SNBP). Based on the infographic of the Top 10 Most Competitive Academic Study Programs in SNBP 2026, the seven universities are Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), Universitas Negeri Malang (UNM), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Universitas Lampung (UNILA), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), and Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). This data reflects both the intense competition for admission to public universities and the strong public trust in leading study programs across these institutions.
UPNVJ stands out as one of the universities placing two study programs on the national list. These programs are Film, Television, and Media Studies, ranked fourth, and Pharmacy, ranked seventh. This achievement underscores that UPNVJ is not only competitive in well-established programs but also capable of attracting strong interest in fields aligned with developments in the film, media, and healthcare industries.
The full list of the 10 most competitive study programs in SNBP 2026 shows that the top position is held by Nursing at UNESA, with 1,693 applicants, 10 admitted, and an acceptance rate of 0.59 percent. Second place is Nursing at UNM, with 1,252 applicants, 11 admitted, and a 0.88 percent acceptance rate. The inclusion of seven public universities on this list indicates that study programs in health sciences, communication, media, and engineering remain top choices among prospective students in the SNBP pathway. Acceptance rates below two percent reflect an अत्यंत competitive selection process. In the context of UPNVJ, having two programs listed nationally serves as a clear indicator of the university’s growing academic appeal at the national level.
For UPNVJ, this achievement holds strategic significance. The Film, Television, and Media Studies program demonstrates that academic innovation aligned with contemporary developments can gain positive public response. Meanwhile, the Pharmacy program reaffirms its position as a consistently in-demand and highly competitive field. The presence of two UPNVJ programs on the same list signals parallel strengthening of academic quality across multiple disciplines.
These results align with the policy direction of the Rector of UPNVJ, Anter Venus, who promotes the development of relevant, competitive study programs that address contemporary needs. Strengthening the curriculum, support from competent faculty, and continuous improvement of learning facilities form the essential foundation for increasing public trust in UPNVJ. The SNBP 2026 results further affirm that UPNVJ is not merely an option, but an increasingly recognized contender in the landscape of national higher education competition.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
