
EduAsiaNews, Jepara – In commemoration of its 48th anniversary, RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara organized the Kartini Fun Run 2026 at the Universitas Diponegoro Jepara Campus as part of promotive and preventive efforts to raise public awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The event was held at the Teluk Awur Campus area in Jepara and was attended by approximately 3,000 participants, including local and international attendees from the general public, healthcare professionals, and students.
The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Suharnomo, had the honor of flagging off the participants of Kartini Fun Run 2026, which featured 5K and 3K runs as well as a 3K fun walk, alongside the Regent of Jepara, Witiarso Utomo, and the Director of RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara, Tri Iriantiwi.
The Regent of Jepara, Witiarso Utomo, warmly welcomed the participants of Kartini Fun Run 2026, stating, “Stay spirited and enjoy the exercise all the way to the finish line.”
The Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Suharnomo, expressed his pride that the UNDIP Jepara Campus was selected as the venue for the Kartini Fun Run 2026 in celebration of the 48th anniversary of RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara. He emphasized that the event was not only about sports but also served to strengthen the connection between the community, the UNDIP campus, and the hospital in Jepara.
“Currently, UNDIP Jepara offers undergraduate programs in Law, Nursing, and Fisheries and Marine Technology and Business (TBPK). God willing, next year UNDIP will open a Naval Engineering program in collaboration with the Jepara Regency Government,” said the Rector. “Moving forward, UNDIP will continue to synergize with the Jepara Regency Government, with the hope of improving the Human Development Index (HDI) of Jepara, which in turn will enhance the welfare of the local community,” he added.
The Director of RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara, Tri Iriantiwi, expressed gratitude for the facilities provided by Universitas Diponegoro that enabled the successful organization of the Kartini Fun Run 2026 as part of the hospital’s 48th anniversary celebration.
In addition to the Kartini Fun Run 2026, the anniversary celebration featured various supporting activities, including free health check-ups, blood donation drives, charitable assistance for orphans, people with disabilities, and special needs schools, as well as the involvement of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that contributed to enlivening the event.
Another important agenda was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Director of RSUD R.A. Kartini Jepara and the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro regarding domestic waste management and wastewater treatment.
This cross-sector collaboration between an educational institution and a healthcare provider is expected to form a strong synergy that will contribute to improving quality of life, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.
