EduAsiaNews, Songkhla Thailand – Prince of Songkla University (PSU), through its Center for International Affairs and Corporate Communication, in collaboration with the Research and Development Office, hosted a four-day executive and researcher forum aimed at strengthening the university’s research capacity and enhancing its competitiveness in global rankings.
Held on August 3, 7, 10, and 11, 2026, at Meeting Room 210 of the President’s Office in a hybrid format, the forum brought together approximately 190 university executives, researchers, and key stakeholders to exchange insights and formulate strategic directions for research development.
The joint initiative utilized research analytics and university ranking data to assess research performance across selected academic disciplines. The forum provided a platform for university leaders and researchers to identify opportunities, address challenges, and develop tailored support mechanisms to promote high-quality, high-impact research aligned with PSU’s institutional context.
Ultimately, the collaborative effort is expected to enhance research quality, expand international collaboration, and strengthen PSU’s global competitiveness.
The discussions focused on three high-potential academic fields—Agriculture & Forestry, Business & Management, and Medicine—along with a dedicated session for PSU’s Top 50 Researchers. Data and insights from SciVal and the QS World University Rankings by Subject were used to assess research performance and inform strategies for future development.
