EduAsiaNews, jakarta – Through its Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has integrated global certification into its learning ecosystem to cultivate industry-ready digital economy talent. In collaboration with Multimatics, FEB UPNVJ organized the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Excel Certification at the Sibuni Laboratory on Saturday (28 February 2026).
This initiative responds to the challenges of digital transformation in the business and financial sectors, which demand graduates who not only understand theoretical concepts but also master data analysis tools aligned with global industry standards. The certification program is designed as part of an outcome-based curriculum strategy, positioning data analytics competence as a core foundation for graduates in accounting, management, and Islamic economics.
During the implementation, students undertook the examination using Microsoft’s officially standardized international testing system. The assessed materials included data processing, the use of advanced formulas, pivot table–based analysis, and data visualization for modern business decision-making. This scheme ensures that competency measurement is conducted objectively and verified according to global standards.
The Dean of FEB UPNVJ, Dr. Jubaedah, emphasized that the integration of professional certification forms part of a measurable competency-based learning transformation. “We aim to ensure that FEB graduates not only understand concepts but are also capable of implementing them using the tools employed by industry. Global certification serves as a bridge between the classroom and the professional world,” she stated.
The collaboration with Multimatics strengthens the university–industry partnership model oriented toward enhancing graduate quality. The MOS Excel certificate obtained by students serves as internationally recognized proof of competence, thereby increasing their competitiveness in job recruitment processes as well as in professional internship selection within the digital business and finance sectors.
This initiative also supports the achievement of the Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), particularly in terms of graduate employability and competency recognition. The integration of certification into the academic process represents a concrete strategy to accelerate the alignment (“link and match”) between higher education and industry demands.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
