EduAsiaNews, Jakarta – UPNVJ Public Relations had the opportunity to interview the Coordinator of the Medical Study Program, dr. Agneta Irmarahayu, M.Pd.Ked., Sp.KKLP, regarding the advantages and prospects of the UPNVJ Medical Study Program. In the interview, Dr. Agneta explained that the Medical Study Program at UPNVJ emphasizes preventive medicine and military health sciences as its primary strengths. With the shift in the medical paradigm that now focuses more on practical application and preparedness to face future health challenges, this program aims not only to produce clinicians but also scientists and community leaders who are competent in promotive and preventive healthcare, as well as in risk communication skills.
Furthermore, the program also prepares doctors to respond to abnormal health situations, such as disasters, public health crises, and other social challenges. Therefore, military health sciences, which are rooted in the values of national defense, constitute an important component of the curriculum in this study program.
Graduates of the UPNVJ Undergraduate Medical Program have very broad career prospects, although they are not yet licensed to practice medicine because they must continue their professional medical education for four semesters. For those who do not pursue the professional program, graduates can still build careers in both medical and non-medical sectors. To date, the Faculty of Medicine at UPNVJ has produced more than 4,200 medical graduates, the majority of whom continue their professional education to obtain a license to practice medicine.
By joining the Faculty of Medicine at UPNVJ, prospective students will not only receive a high-quality medical education but will also become part of the future generation of healers who are prepared to face various global health challenges.(www.upnvj.ac.id)
