PATRIBERA is the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) program at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta. In 2025, PATRIBERA involved more than 270 committee members to welcome 4,582 new students who gathered at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta, on August 11–12, 2025.

The first day of PKKMB featured a series of activities. The opening session was presented by Prof. Dr. Asep Nana Mulyana, S.H., M.Hum., who delivered a lecture titled “Law Abidance and Law Enforcement as an Expression of Defending the Nation.”

In the Cultural Values Introduction session, Hamry Gusman from the Jakarta Provincial Center for National Insight Education (PPWK) emphasized the importance of the four fundamental national consensuses that form the strong foundation of Indonesia: Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity).

The next speaker, Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) H. Abdul Kadir Karding, encouraged new students at UPNVJ to make the most of their university years to build leadership, skills, and international networks.

Also taking the stage was Gojek’s Head of Brand Activation, Sponsorship & Partnership, Intan Asmara Dewi, who invited thousands of UPNVJ freshmen to use technology and social media to bring Indonesia’s local stories to the global stage.

According to Intan, creatively packaging culture in ways that are relevant to young generations is a form of modern patriotism.

The 2025 PKKMB UPNVJ program grew even livelier with an inspiring talk show titled “Creative Industry and Music in the Hands of the Nation’s Young Successors.”

The session was opened by Achmad Za’im Mudzaki, Festival Director of the 7th Bela Negara Festival (BELFEST), which this year carried the theme “Your Version of Heroes’ Day” in collaboration with PATRIBERA 2025.

Accompanied by BELFEST’s three mascots—Bara, Vita, and Rafi—Za’im symbolically welcomed the guest speakers to the stage: Ezra Mandira (musician, former HIVI! guitarist), Gerhana Banyu Biru (Director of The Sounds Project & Co.), Maghfiro Ridho (Marketing Director of Ideafest), and Jessica Bunga, a.k.a. Jebung (musician, DJ, podcaster, and content creator).

As the moderator, Za’im opened the discussion with a thought-provoking question: “What exactly is the creative industry, and what have you done in it so far?”

Ezra Mandira began by sharing his view that the creative industry is an inclusive space for anyone who wishes to create based on their passion.

“Everyone has their role—not just the musicians on stage, but also those working behind the scenes,” he said. Ezra encouraged students to leverage the digital ecosystem, free opportunities like social media, and networks within the campus environment.

The next speaker, West Java Governor Kang Dedi Mulyadi (KDM), delivered a captivating presentation, urging around 4,800 UPNVJ freshmen to balance the use of heart and mind in both their studies and life.

“Successful students are not only those who read books in the library, but also those who listen, observe, and feel,” KDM remarked. “The heart gives us sensitivity, while the mind ensures we can compete on a global stage,” he concluded. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
