EduAsiaNews, Jakarta — The Center for Community Service (PPM) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has officially opened registration for the 2026 Regular Community Service Program (KKN). The announcement was made through the official Instagram channel of PPM UIN Jakarta on Thursday (26/02/2026).

At UIN Jakarta, the KKN program is divided into three categories: KKN in Campus, International KKN, and Regular KKN. Registration for the KKN in Campus and International KKN programs had previously been opened.

Meanwhile, registration for the Regular KKN is open from 25 February 2026 until 10 April 2026. The program forms part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the area of community service. The 2026 Regular KKN series commenced with a Community Service Methodology Kick-Off on Wednesday, 25 February 2026. Registration for the Regular KKN may be completed through the UIN Jakarta Academic Information System (AIS) website.

In her remarks, the Head of PPM UIN Jakarta, Ade Rina Farida, M.Si., emphasized that community service should not merely be regarded as part of a work program, but must deliver tangible solutions and empower communities through a research-based approach.

“In the short term, community service programs are expected to provide solutions, empower communities, and promote research-based service initiatives. Thus, the program should deliver concrete solutions and measurable impact for society. The outcomes may subsequently be compiled into manuscripts for publication in books, scientific reports, or journal articles,” she stated.

She further underscored the importance of ensuring continuity between community service activities and academic development within the university environment. According to her, synergy among lecturers, students, and the community is key to the success of community service programs.

“Community service is not merely about being present within society, but about ensuring that the knowledge we possess is genuinely applied to address real issues faced by the community. Through synergy among lecturers, students, and the community, it is hoped that these activities will not conclude merely with program implementation, but will generate meaningful and lasting outcomes,” she added.

Prior to deployment to their respective service locations, students participating in the Regular KKN are required to attend a series of preparatory activities. These include documentary video production training, technical guidance on community service methodology, and technical briefings prior to program implementation. The preparatory activities are scheduled to take place following the completion of group assignments, the appointment of Field Supervising Lecturers (DPL), and the allocation of service locations.

The university also reaffirmed its commitment to continuously monitor and evaluate the implementation of the KKN program. Each group will be accompanied by a Field Supervising Lecturer responsible for providing technical guidance and ensuring that program outcomes meet the established standards.

Through the Regular KKN program, students are expected to apply the knowledge they have acquired while contributing directly to society by delivering practical solutions and generating tangible impact.
