EduAsiaNews, Surakarta — The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) has provided educational fund assistance to 100 students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. The symbolic handover of the funds was conducted by the Chair of the Board of Commissioners of LPS, Anggito Abimanyu, to the Rector of UNS, Hartono, following his delivery of a special Ramadan sermon for UNS’s 50th Anniversary at the Nurul Huda Mosque, UNS, on Sunday (1 March 2026).

In his remarks, Prof. Anggito Abimanyu stated that this educational assistance program is part of LPS’s social responsibility to the community, particularly in supporting the development of human resources through higher education. He also explained that LPS manages its finances transparently and accountably by separating reports for conventional and Sharia-compliant activities.

“LPS’s financial reports are separated between conventional and Sharia funds. Sharia-managed funds are utilized in accordance with Sharia principles, including for the resolution and insurance of Islamic banks as well as Sharia-compliant investments. Meanwhile, conventional funds are managed for public benefit, with their advantages returned to the community, such as through educational assistance programs like this,” he explained.

Rector of UNS, Prof. Hartono, expressed appreciation for LPS’s support for UNS students, noting that the assistance provides not only financial benefits but also demonstrates tangible concern from a state institution for the continuity of education.

“We highly appreciate LPS’s support in providing assistance to UNS students. This aid is a clear example of effective collaboration between a state institution and a university in supporting education and preparing future outstanding generations,” said Prof. Hartono.

The educational assistance program is expected to strengthen the synergy between LPS and UNS. “We hope that this educational funding from LPS can help ease students’ financial burdens while motivating them to continue achieving and contributing to the nation,” he concluded.
