EduAsiaNews, Seoul – A wide-open opportunity awaits international students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies in South Korea. Korea University Graduate School in Seoul has officially opened applications for the SK Global Scholarship 2026 programme, running from 3 to 31 March 2026. The full scholarship is designed specifically for master’s degree candidates in artificial intelligence (AI), information technology, and semiconductors, three pillars underpinning South Korea’s technological ambitions on the global stage.

Each cohort will accept up to 20 students, evenly split between 10 places on the AI/IT track and 10 places on the Semiconductor track. The scholarship package is fully funded, covering tuition fees, return airfare, living expenses, health insurance, and additional academic support throughout the two-year programme, with a monthly living allowance of 1,500,000 Korean won. That figure is equivalent to approximately 16 million Indonesian rupiah per month, a sum considered adequate to cover the cost of living in Seoul.

The entire application process is conducted online with no registration fee, and the selection requires neither a written examination nor an interview. Candidates are assessed solely on submitted documents, including academic transcripts, a statement of purpose, and a letter of recommendation from a supervising lecturer. The recommendation letter must be sent directly by the recommender to the scholarship’s official email address no later than 15 April 2026, applications whose letters arrive after this deadline risk disqualification.

The scholarship is open to applicants from selected countries, including Austria, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, and Japan for the semiconductor track, along with other nations listed in the university’s official eligibility guidelines. Additional key requirements include that neither the applicant nor their parents hold South Korean citizenship, and that applicants are able to demonstrate proficiency in English or Korean through a recognised certification.

This programme is far more than a financial grant. For students in AI and semiconductors, Seoul offers direct access to global industry leaders, backed by cutting-edge research infrastructure, innovation hubs, and a robust international academic network within Korea University itself. Amid intensifying global competition for mastery of strategic technologies, this scholarship stands as a gateway for young talent across Asia, Indonesia included, to step into the frontlines of the world’s innovation landscape
