EduAsiaNews, Varansi — The Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU) held the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Health Care and Education titled “AI for VIKSIT Bharat” from February 14–16, 2026. The conference, which took place at the K.N. Udupa Auditorium, brought together medical professionals, technology researchers, academics, policymakers, and artificial intelligence (AI) experts from across India.
Organized through the Regional Resource Centre (Eastern Region) Telemedicine, the event aimed to promote the integration of artificial intelligence into healthcare services and education. The use of AI is seen as a way to expand access to services, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and support more accurate clinical decision-making, particularly for communities in remote and underserved areas.
During several discussion sessions, participants explored strategic topics ranging from AI-based early disease detection and the expansion of telemedicine services to the application of digital technology in medical education. Speakers emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration between healthcare professionals and technology experts to ensure that innovations can be effectively implemented in real-world settings.
Beyond technical aspects, the conference also highlighted the importance of data governance and ethical considerations in the use of AI in healthcare. Patient data protection and adaptive regulations in response to rapid technological developments were identified as key priorities in future policymaking.
The organizers stated that the forum aligns with India’s national initiatives, such as Digital India and Viksit Bharat Adhiyan 2047, which promote the use of digital technology to accelerate national development. Through this conference, IMS-BHU hopes to contribute to the formulation of sustainable digital transformation strategies in healthcare and education.
The three-day conference is expected to generate concrete recommendations and strengthen collaborative networks among universities, research institutions, and the government in advancing AI-based innovations in India. ( Source : The Times of India )
