EduAsiaNews, Semarang – Dwi Kurniawati was inaugurated as President of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Communication (Fikom) at Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (Unissula). The inauguration ceremony, led by the Dean, Trimanah SSos MSi, took place at the Fikom Auditorium on Monday (16/2/2026). In addition to swearing in the BEM President and her executive team, the Dean also inaugurated the Chair of the Student Senate (SEMA) of Fikom, Muhamad Nabil Azka, along with his team.
In her speech, Trimanah encouraged the BEM and SEMA executives to develop creative work programs and advised them not to be bound by previous leadership’s agendas. She also emphasized the importance of actively promoting Fikom Unissula.
“I specifically request that all BEM and SEMA members actively participate in promoting Fikom. Your commitment is crucial. Together, we need to strengthen Fikom, including by promoting and recruiting prospective new students,” she stated.
Trimanah also highlighted that Fikom is in the process of establishing a fully equipped laboratory to support the optimization of the teaching and learning process. This facility is expected to enhance students’ competencies across broadcasting, journalism, marketing communication, and other fields.
The inauguration was attended by the Faculty Secretary, Fikri Shofin Mubarok SE MIKom, and the Head of the Communication Studies Program, Urip Mulyadi SIKom MIKom. Also present were lecturers Dr. Made Dwi Adnjani SSos MSi, Dania Ayu Martina SIKom MIKom, and Nurkholis SE MIKom, as well as former BEM and SEMA executives.
